Driving along 4 times now in different situations, my truck looses power and goes into some kind of power overide. The truck looses power, sputters and goes slow and the engine light comes of. If i pulll over and turn off the truck it restarts running well, but the engine light stays on until I have the truck turned off for a litttle longer time, like 5 minutes. Then it returns to normal. The mechanic was unable to get any readings about what is going on. Help. This is dangerous in lots of traffic.

Loosing power when driving then after short time power comes back

Here are some things you can try. Check the fuel for water, check the fuel filter. I would try that first before anything else

Jeep sputters

Check fuel pressure at the injector rail. Could be pump is failing or filter is clogged.

Driving along just fine, then surged and died. Restarts fine, idles rough, give it gas and it just chugs and sputters. No power to move itself. had to use 4 low to get it off the road.

I would suggest you try replacing the fuel filter usally located under the driver side of the truck inside the frame. If that is ok then you may consider the fuel pump in the gas tank.

Loose power

The ticking I have no idea. Losing power and sputtering could be a number of problems, bad wiring harness, a short, a sensor, bad injectors, clog in a fuel line perhaps.

When im driving my truck,it starts to sputter and

I would try spark plugs and wires. If it was a fuel line you would see the leak or atleast smell it very strongly. If the problem still exists after new plugs and wires try the distributor cap.
