  1. Most rear lamps can be accessed from inside the trunk. Open trunk and look for access past the carpet.
  2. By pulling back the carpet or removing the large plastic carpet retaining nuts, you can see the back of the light assembly.
  3. If you can reach the bulb from inside the trunk, you don't need to remove the lens assembly to replace the bulbs. But, if you can't reach the bulb and connector assembly, you may need to remove the lens assembly.
  4. If necessary, remove the tail light panel screws and the lens assembly.
  5. You can now simply turn the bulb connector assembly counterclockwise and remove it from the lens housing.

This video link might help ... it is for a 1993 Olds .... and the "trick" there is that you have to loosen and pull back/bend the whole corner of the plastic/felted trunk liner (but do not 100% remove the liner) to gain access to the lights. So it is not obvious ...

Location of 1988 oldsmobile delta thermostate

You can eather get back to us with the engine size or fallow the upper radiator hose back to the engine block. The thermostat will be under the housing the upper radiator hose attaches to.

Fire order for a 1988 delta 88 oldsmobile

There are two different ignition systems for that year, depending on if it is a VIN "C" or VIN "3". Here is the firing order diagrams for both systems.

Olds 1988 delta 88 changed harmonic balancer and now odd things happen. Like sometimes when you turn on headlights the windshield wipers come on. Sometimes when idling in park the mileage odometer will...

Sounds like a ground issue. Look for any ground points around the area of the engine where you were. There are several bolts that have ground wires attached on the manifold and head areas.
