I dont know if this is a hydralic clutch or cable sounds like a cable going bad cause usaly when hyd. clucths go bad they get losse at the pedal so if is a cable it might have a crack in the cable causing weather to get . if it is hyd. the master cylinder could be bad causing no press check your fluid or cable for cracks

I have a 2000 suzuki grand vitara that has a problem going int gear

check and bleed the clutch system at the slave cylinder and if that dose not improve the clutch operation then replace the master cylinder. If the system is cable operated then replace the cable. If you have removed the clutch to replace it then the clutch plate is probably in the wrong way round and the centre is hitting on the flywheel bolts.

Where is the starter for a 2000 suzuki grand vitara located

starters are normally located at the rear of the motor usually hard to get too or see. should be on your bell housing in other words just in front of the gearbox/clutch

Stiff gears

You can try using synthetic gear lube, I have found it reduces shift effort by at least half when it is cold.
