On the cylinder thats firing ...Try the dead coil you replaced on the working (firing) cylinder. if it fires? The problem is not the coils. try cleaning all connections going to coil.

You may need to replace the plug wires after many miles they become more resistive and deliver weak or no spark to the plugs. It could also be the ignition module it is common for GM vehicles in that year range to have failing modules.

I have. A 1996 60 HP evinrude stalled out,put new plugs in it,no fire from plugs....and also what is the proper position of the fuel (red tab)

No fire to plugs. Replace the coil? Been a long time since I worked on these. I believe that they are set up like lawn mowers. They have a magneto to fire the coil. They can get rusty and not let the coil fire. Just something to check.

Changed coil in 1997 c1500. New coil wouldn't fire and now old coil won't fire. What could be the problem?

Check for 12v at red wire, if ok then replace ign pick up module ( usually green and yellow wires under rotor). or pick up coil. hope this helps !!

The middle coil pack on my 99 firebird v6 is not firing what could cause this? we replaced the ignition moduel and it is still not firing?

Need to replace the coil pack. If there is a problem with the ignition module, then other coil pack would not work.

Engine will not start. Coil is firing when

If coil is good and plugs are not - there's your problem. You can't have output of coil be good and plugs not work right. Something inbetween is wrong.

Cranks will not start where is the sensor that makes it get fire to the motor I belive it is not fireing .

Grab a Spark tester from a parts store if you believe it is not firing, and locate the coil packs. Plug the tester on to the coil pack, and in to the corresponding plug wire when you turn it over you will see spark if it's working. If a coil is not working, switch it with another coil and see if the good coil has spark in the same position as the one that appeared bad. If the good coil also does not fire from that position, thecontrol module is bad. The control module is the plate that the coil packs sit on it is quite easy to replace by removing the coils, however not the cheapest part, hopefully it is the coil for your sake.

Truck engine turns over but does not fire.

Is there spark coming out of coil? Check for injector pulse also check ASD relay. If all these are ok it may be worth while to check the crankshaft position senser and the pick up coil.
