Hi, my 2005 tdci 130 bhp mondeo has recently started making a rattling noise at 73,000 miles when I push the clutch in. Having said this it is selecting every gear perfectly and once I accelerate it goes away. Also it has been hesitating when at cruising speed in the low gears ( 1st to 3rd ) but disappears when I accelerate? Have 2 years left on my finance and the warranty has expired worried I'm gonna seriously be out of pocket pleased give me some advice. Thanks Damien.

No pulse? Is the engine running? How are you measureing pulse? If the engine is running there is a pulse, if it's not running, there won't be a pulse. If TDCI is correct this is a turbodiesel
Compression Ignition.
Hi Warren,,
These cars are fitted with a Delphi common rail system that is known for various faults including yours, you need to have a sealed rail test done on the injectors as they are probably leaking off to much causing low pressure in the common rail, when the car is warm, they also suffer with injector code loss ,no reason they get confused this normally gives poor performance and high fuel consumption ,if the injectors are fine check the system for air leaks in the fuel supply pipes and check the leak off pipes for leaks, even the smallest leak can let air in,if the engine light has come on get the codes read ,

The problem is quite possibly brakes that are not releasing properly. It may be the emergency brake cable hanging up and keeping the back brakes on.
The other possibility is that the front calipers are stuck or sticking.
Brake linings are made out of the same material as clutch material.
If you are careful not to burn yourself, next time you smell burning clutch/brake, you can put your hand on each of the wheels in the center and feel them for heat. If they are warm/hot, you can tell which one(s) are causing the problem.
ford only on the newer models ,software readers like scansoft or digisoft will not touch it if its a europeon model ,dont know about cars sold in america weither its the same coded software or not
