SOURCE: When at full throttle it feels like it's losing power

definitely a carb. issue......before taking it off and cleaning it try running some seafoam through (sold at advance, autozone etc) the tank.....sounds like the jets are a little clogged

SOURCE: just bought a 1993 suzuki

If is runs better with full choke, then the bike is lean, check for air leaks at the carb manifold, vacumn cracked hoses, non standard exhausts, perhaps the mufflers have rusted out while sitting

Saw will not rev up to full rpm when you pull trigger it revs up to 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and starts cutting out.

Engine may be too worn or may have run out of oil at some point, compromising the bearings.

Losing power

I take it its a Briggs motor
It sounds like 2 possibilities
1 possible half sheared flywheel key causing out of time conditions
2 carb is dirty not due to your new gas filter but dirt through air inlet and needs to be taken off diassembled and cleaned (carb cleaner and determine all jets and small orfice holes are clean.

The oil when hot shouldn't be above the hot mark (the highest mark on the dipstick). If it is much higher than this it may cause too much lower end compression and bog or stall the engine. It may also cause blow-by, causing the oil to be burned in the cylinder.

Aside from that possibility, also pull out your plugs and check their condition. Also check the condition of your plug leads.
If they all seem fine, then check that your plugs are receiving a healthy spark.
Check the condition of your:
Fuel filter
Air filter.

Yamaha waverunner won't idle and losing power

L stands for limp mode
it is a mode that the ECM selects to prevent serious damage to the engine ( from you lack of oil )
have the fault codes read then reset with the scan tool

2003 115 mercury efi losing power

I am a Mercury certified technician. What you need to do is take it to a Mercury dealer and have them hook it up to the computer. It sounds like the engine could be in Guardian mode or possibly a high RPM misfire. It is not something that is common and the computer program that Mercury has for those is able to test misfires and all sorts of cool stuff. It can also tell you if the engine was broke in properly, how many actual running hours are on it and even at what RPM each hour was ran. It will be able to bring up all faults that it has had in the past and any faults that are current. I know that you are probably looking for a quick, easy fix but for this problem I dont think that there is any way around taking the engine in. For what it is worth, if they charge you for more than 2 hours to run it on the computer then take it somewhere else. I can fully test the engine with the computer in about an hour. The only reason that it would take any longer is if they had to put it in the water to duplicate the problem but most shops will have a test tank that is capable of running your engine under a load at full throttle. Sorry for the bad news but I cant think of any other way and throwing new parts at it is just going to get expensive quick.

If your old engine ran real bad with oil passing through your exhaust more than likely the catalytic converter is bad
