I would change the float valve as they do suffer from wear and corrosion, especially if stood for a long time with no fuel.

will it be an issue with it dripping for a while as far as rideing it un till i get a chance to replace the float valve?

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you turn the petrol tap off whenever you can. I don't want to read about a fellow rider getting burnt!

Richard, I would suggest you go with a stage 3 jet kit for improved air flow. Ebay has them for a great deal. I'll post a link. Good luck. ^^

My carbs are over flowing with gas

You can probably not fix this. After the repairs are made to your carbs, they will have to be re sync'd and re balanced. Please see your local Suzuki dealer for repair for your 30 year old motorcycle.

81 650 gs whrer do the fuel lines go from tank to carbs

if this is the model i am thinking of it is a twin and has two carbs...one fuel line down to a "cross-over-pipe" ( one fuel line hooks to a "T" type splitter) that then sends fuel to both carbs. it sits in center of the two carbs.....What ypu will have that looks like fuels lines but one is a breather tube, the other is a vacuum line..
so only one fuel line down to carbs....thats if i remember the models correctly.

I have a 1981 650 gs650 motorcycle I have cleaned the carbs 3 times installed new needle and seat. air cleaner is clean. valves were checked for clearence have good fire but it is still running rich and...

The carbs have to be jetted. If they are the slightest bit out, it will backfire, burn your eyeballs from the fumes and skip and sput like crazy. I found the Dyna-Flow adjustable kits work great, the should have one for your bike, I found one on ebay, because after going to Italy (Ducati) and getting the factory setting jets put back in the bike, it still wouldn't run. I took those carbs off 20 times, the first time took me an hour, I can get them off there now in 10 minuets. Anyway, the adjustable jets work great, it fired right up and ran perfect the first time. Still running great. I am sold. Check them out.

My 1981 suzuki will run with choke out but will die as soon as i give it gas. tried new gas and seafoam?

take your carbs off and clean them concentrating on the slow jets and the slow jet passageway through the carb body.

My 84 Suzuki gs650 sounds great at about 4 grand but wont even think about running under that. Had carbs sync and everything. Stumped in Highland!

Assuming each of the carb butterflys are opening and closing properly and in sync, and balanced properly, the problem is likely to be hardened rubber ducting and seals between the carbs and the cylinder. A good seal is needed so that un-carburetored outside air does not get into the fuel mix after the carbs. This leans the mix and makes the engine rev high. Any cracks in the rubber manifold can also let air in. Please rate my answer. Thanks.
