Why don't you contact Yamaha and get them to send you a spare key?

Wanna know do the 98 honda accord keys have a chip in them

Well first of yes your key was probably programed wrong or the chip in your key could be going out when you start your car the is a green key that lights up on your gauge cluster if your key is programed properly a few seconds after you start the car the green key will no longer be illuminated but if it is and your car dies the yes you need to get a new key since 98 all Accords have an imobilizer system witch means you have to get a key from a honda dealer because there is a little chip in the key that sends a signal to the imobilizer and tells it that the key is for the car and will start it take these steps to get your new key

1st. go to any honda dealer go to the parts department and tell them you need a extra key made the key will cost you around 35 dollars

2nd . after you get the new key cut go to the service department and talk to a advisor tell them you need a key programed then they will take your car program the key witch takes about ten minutes and most of the time they will do it for free if they dont it will cost about 20 bucks

if you do not program the key it will not work it will not start the car unless it is programed and you cannot program it yourself because you have to hook your imobilizer up to hondas interactive network through a data pad plugged into your pcm port and the only people that can do this are people at the dealership

so spend 30 minutes out of your day and 50-60 dollars out of your pocket at a honda dealer and you will have your new key and it is the only way to get a new key for your car

I bought a 2007 R1 thers no key and thers no ignition system and i wana get the bike started without costing me an arm and a leg is this possible thanx

The ignition is coded to the ECU and are a set
If you have the red key you can re- use ignition switch but will need a new ECU ,as once they are paired, cannot be changed and bike will not run. You cannot use S/H unless they are a set with keys.

I lost my yzf r1 key. please assist me on what should i do?

Bring the vin number and any Yamaha dealer can get you a new key. Or you can replace the ignition, that will also get you a new key. It's always a good thing to keep a second key.

Please rate this answer. Thank you.
