If you contact a Honda Motorcycle agent and request a float and needle valve for the carburettor, replacing those will cure the overflow problem. You may have to remove the carb. to work on it but it is a straight forward job.

Sounds like the fuel pump isn't working, you can buy service kits though quite often corrosion will prevent you from removing the valves.. or it could simply be the fuel cap isn't venting, remove fuel cap and see if the engine continues to run!

Carburator and idle problem

Believe it or not you just said the solution to your own problem manufacturers specs requires for any adjustments to engine idle or other carburator adjustments to be preformed while the engine is idling and at normal operating temp in plain english let the car warm up then make your idle and mixture adjustments if this doesnt solve it i would check the auto choke and make sure it is opening at normal operating temp hope this helps good luck

If the problem is not a vac leak, it could be the idle circuit inside the carb. You may have to replace or rebuild the carb to fix it.

Sounds to me like it is fuel related have you cleaned the carburator and Bowl ?
If not I would try removing the float bowl bolt located under the carburator .
these bolts are hollow and fill up with dirt and sediment once removed you will see small holes drilled into the side i use a torch tip cleaner but a straight pin will work to unclog .clean any debree from inside of bolt before installing i use spray carb cleaner with the extension will get into the holes well .I would always try this first before assuming the carburator needed to be taken apart and cleaned hope this helps .

I have a 2006 Kawasaki Bayou 250 it is always fowling spark

does it backfire when revving down? are your spark plugs coming out black? if yes, you need to lean out your system a little by adjusting the mixture screw on the carb.

What is the float adjustment on a 1991 fxrs low rider convertible

Is the carburator a stock Kiehen or some other aftermarket carb? If it's a stock Kiehen, the float must be set with the carburator on an angle. If it's an S&S carb, the float level is 1/8" below the top edge of the float bowl. If you have a stock Kiehen, repost and I'll be more specific on how to set the float. I don't have my book with me at the moment and I don't want to tell you something incorrect. My memory ain't what it used to be and I always look at the book these days.

Check for an air leak around the intake and carburator mounting area. Also don't forget to check your fuel cap to make sure that it is vented properly. A cap that is not vented properly will not allow fuel to flow between the fuel tank and the carburator. These are a couple of areas that I would look at first. Hope this helps and good luck.
