Question about 2002 Yamaha TT-R 125 L

1 Answer

Oil leaks out of 2000 Yamaha TT-R 125. How should I fix it? How many oil problems do they have on this bike. I think that the oil leak is coming from the bottom. Do you think it is a seal or a gasket.

Hi ,
By the sound of things it would be a seal or gasket .
There are additives that you can buy and add it to your oil which can seal the leak but generally the best thing to do is to pull the lower case apart and replace the faulty gasket

Why does oil blow from breather to air cleaner yamaha tt 600

Hi, Anonymous oil leaking from your air cleaner is caused by oil carryover from the engine. For whatever reason, the breather system is not separating enough oil mist and air from the piston downstroke. There are cheap and quick easy fixes and there are more expensive ones. First, make sure your breather hoses are not dry and cracked if they are ok you can start by trying the following:
1. Run your oil level half way between the add and full mark when hot.
2. Run oil breather lines from the head into a TEE fitting below carb/induction module then a single line into a mini filter under the frame.
3. Purchase Arlen Ness Super Sucker.
4. Replace umbrella valves and realign oil pump.
5. Upgrade oil pump and cam plate.

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:

3. Faulty main circuit breaker and or connections.
4. Faulty ignition coil and or connections.
5. Faulty spark plug, oil or gas fouled, wrong heat range or service type, wrong gap, loose in the cylinder head, broken electrode or insulator.

I have an oil leak on my 4 stroke ttr 125 it just happened what should i do?

Hi, Ak_starwarsg to find the source of your oil leak, start at the point where you see oil and trace its path going up and forward, blowing baby powder from the palm of your hand will help in those difficult to see areas if there is too much oil present then buy a spray can of engine degreaser apply it to the affected area then rinse off with a pressure wand or garden hose, use compressed air to blow off excess water or just let it drip dry, take your bike for a 15 minute ride and check for the leak.

Yamaha ttr 125 will start and run great with choke on. As soon as choke is off bike dies. I cleaned the carburator with no luck. I have read several reviews describing the same problem, will rejetting...

Check the intake for leaks.
Get it running and spray a little carb cleaner around the intake to see if the RPM's change.
If they do then you have an intake leak.
The jets may be clogged up but I do not think you need to increase the size at all

Sounds like a worn seal. If you remove the cover and knock out the seal any atv dealer should be able to replace it.

Oil is a grey colour in the engine of my yz 125 2001

Your bike is water cooled. Some of that water is leaking into the gear box. The cylinder gasket is the likely leak. I would let the shop take a look at it instead of trying to fix it yourself.

But be sure there is not an external source for the water. Do you wash the bike often? Ride the creek bed often? Leave the bike where the lawn sprinkler gets the bike wet? Leave it out in the rain? Change the oil and keep the bike dry. If the problem comes back then go see the dealer.
