It sounds like there is a problem with the voltage regulator. Check the regulator by substitution.
Hope that fixes it for you.

Hi, Correl you may have CDI or exhaust advancer issues for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one. KMX 125 -99 i need to ask what part is controlling the thermostat/ignition. the thermostat is pending between normal temperature to very high temperature, when this happened the bike was happen to...

Hi, Alex the thermostat on your bike is controlled by coolant temperature when the bike is cold the thermostat is closed as the coolant heats up the thermostat begins to open if your coolant is overheating the usual suspects are:
1. Low coolant level.
2. Restricted radiator air flow.
3. Faulty thermostat.
4. Coolant pump or fans inoperative.
5. Vent hose crimped.
6. Air in the coolant and needs bleeding.
7. Engine idling too long or bike moving too slow.
8. Coolant too old needs to be replaced.

My voltage regulator (kmx 125) gets hot when engine starts, there might be something wrong with it...thanks

I think it's supposed to get hot, given its metal and has fins to dispurse heat, so as long as the batteries charging and the lights don't dim it's fine. You could check the charge with a volt meter, while the engines running I don't remember the exact voltage it should be at idle and under load but I think it's 12v idle and upto 13v under load, but check the manual for the exact voltages. If it out of specs it needs replacing.

Does anyone know where i can get a kmx 125 rear wheel from

Your best bets will be www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/default.aspx for rim, spokes, etc., or Googling motorcycle salvage kawasaki.

2 stroke oil goes in the tank under the seat, engine oil goes in the right hand side of the engine should be a black nob you can unscrew with your hand.

Kmx 125 1995 engine rattle at high revs does rattle at low but not noticable till high revs also anyone know why a vfr400 grey import isnt charging battery? has new voltage regulator still not charging...

Rattle generally means detonation, which will destroy your engine. How quickly that will happen depends on the severity of the detonation. You can cure detonation by retarding the timing, cooling the intake charge, using higher octane gas, or lowering your compression.

Kawasaki kmx125 lights go dim when revving engine. work fine on i

I had the same issue, and it after lots of testing and measuring, found out it was only that 'earth' wire that you have at the bottom left part of the engine, coming out from the left engine cover. You will find it easily, it's a standalone wire, mine had its sleeve too dry, might have been why it was not well connected. It also had a mix of sand and oil in it, so no wonder the lights would dim out. The wire plugs into some sort of a screw, you really can't miss it :) Even the old, worn sounding Yuasa battery got back to perfect function, only added distilled water to it and let it run fro some time. Cheers:)
