Question about 2000 Aprilia RS 125
I assume "bum start" means you have to push or kick start the bike, rather than electric start it. If you put in a high performance/larger piston then you may just have a higher compression that the starter can't turn over. If it was stock, then there may be several possible problems. Make sure your piston is in correctly. There is an arrow or a mark on top of the piston that should be pointed toward the exhaust side. Also, if it is a 2 ring piston, there is a top and a bottom ring, and an upside and a downside to each ring. There is often a "t" on the topside of each piston ring to indicate which side is up. As for which is ring one and ring two, I'd have to see the rings, but usually, they are a different thickness so it is easy to tell which one is the first vs the 2nd ring. Any Aprilia dealer should also be able to tell you. There are other possibilities, but I'd start here. Good luck. www.solanocycle.com
