Well the cherry red exhaust tells me that its getting way too much fuel, and the idle problem will continue if the float inside the carb is bad, or the needle for fuel cut off is stuck, either way the carb has to come off to be thouroghly cleaned, and check the float, it should be fverry light, and if its a brass one, shake it back and forth by your ear to listen for fuel in it, this will make the float sink lower in the carb and not allow the fuel to shut off. good luck hope this helps

My 2005 450 RMZ exhaust pipe glows red at idle. What size jets do I need at 1000' elevation?

Hi, Mark your motorcycle is a high-performance dirt bike designed to run flat out that being said if you are strolling down some scenic trail at a slow speed or letting the bike idle for a few minutes your header pipe will turn cherry red, why you ask? It is not a street bike, it is designed for competition and weight is a major factor all necessary components are of the smallest and lightest design necessary to maintain performance under extreme conditions ie. small radiator and inside frame oil reservoir that doesn't get cooled, the majority of your riding needs to be at high speed. For more information about your issue and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the links below. Good luck and have a nice day.

Head gasket or lower intake gasket on 98 Blazer

this does sound like a head problem (hopefully just the gasket). pulling the head with the exhaust manifold attached is possible but tricky and difficult. risking the bolt and drilling it out if it snaps would be alot easier. I would strongly suggest having the head checked while its off (so you dont rebuild to find that you wasted time and money on a bad head)

SUZUKI 2005 DR650SE DUAL SPORT RUNS GREAT BUT AT IDLE THERE IS A SLIGHT POPPING IN IDLE RYTHYM, ALSO BACKFIRES SLIGHTLY WHEN DOWNSHIFTING...HELP

Carefully check your intake manifold for leaks, cracks, separation. An air leak on the intake side between the carburetor and the cylinder head would be the cause of popping on the intake side. If there are leaks in the exhaust system, an o-ring seal in the head, or a seal between the head pipe and the muffler, this can cause popping or backfiring in the exhaust.

When warm runs rough sets knock sensor code will hardly idle turn front cat cherry red car sat for a year put new gas in it when cold runs great

If the cat is cherry red as you say it is I would check the firing order or timing they may have crossed plug wires this will cause the exhaust manifolds to get red hot and glow let me know if this heled you and good luck.It definitely sound to be timing related or crossed wires.

on the air intake is a pipe that picks up hot air from the exhaust manifold ,where this pipe joins the air intake pipe is a vavle which is operated by a bi.metal strip thermostat ,so when its cold it allows vacumn from the engine to open the valve allowing hot air into the intake which stops it from freezing up around the butterfly ,Something is wrong around this area but without having my head under the bonnet i couldnt say ,if your in doubt ask a local mechanic to have a look they will see the problem straight away

Sounds like you have a plugged up catalytic converter. You cant clean them it will need replaced. If it is the 4cyl engine, the converter is the exhaust manifold on the front of the engine.

Carb or manifold or exhaust problem hellllppppppppp

You have an air leak on the intake side of the motor. Get new carb and carb manifold gaskets. Tighten the bolts down evenly in three stages. For the exhaust, try the link below. It is a high temp silicone sealer.
