Question about 2003 Yamaha TT-R 125 LE

1 Answer

Okay so I have a 2003 Yamaha TTR-125 dirtbike, it is NOT electric start, it is kick-start. All of the plastics were replaced so I do not have the original stickers on it with the model, therefore I forgot what model my TTR125 is...can someone help please? I don't remember the exact model and I am trying to order a service manuel and some new parts, and I don't want to order the wrong ones. If someone has any idea if my bike could be the TTR-125, TTR-125LR , TTR-125LER, TTR-125LE, TTR-125E or TTR-125R, please let me know. Dumb question, I know but I just got it out of storage and I'm trying to get it running again. I need to get back to the desert lol. Thanks so much!

There is a frame number stamped on the frame neck. If you call a dealer they can look up the year and model using an ID microfiche. Next to the stamped frame number there should be a riveted plate with the VIN number on it . If this plate is still on your frame it also has the model number and the model year of the motorcycle clearly printed on it. All Yamaha dealers have the ability to ID your machine using the Vehicle Identification Number.

Take to long to start.. takes almost ten minutes of kick starting... electric starter wont turn over to start bike yamaha ttr 125

The TTR-125 Carburetor's Run Lean by design. Mine had the same issues till I found a post on Thumpertalk.com on Carb and air box Mod. This is a good starting point on gets; 110 and 112.5 main and 17.5 pilot. But you must check spark plug coloring to make sure the jetting is correct. Check spark plug after the bike has been ridden for a wile. I also took out the stock baffle and replaced it with exhaust tip and now it fires up after a few kicks and worms up in a few minutes.

Front brakes on my yamaha ttr 125 wont work

First. Check the brake fluid level.
Second. Look for leaks in the lines and calipers.
Third. Check the brake pads.
Fourth. If pads worn, pull and replace
Fifth. If pads are okay and all works above the calipers.
Time to pull the calipers and rebuild.
Go to local dealer buy some parts and clean.
Rebuild
