Tiller looses power when it gets hot/wont start when hot

My first hit is bad or weak spark.. as in a failing ignition coil or ignition module.. and/or spark plug.

It can be difficult to check spark quality on a hot engine.. The spark should be very blueish..if yellowish it's weak.

Check the plug and renew regap if needed.

If it still has compression when you try to start it.. it's probably one or both.

Always make sure you keep the cooling fins clean of debris..

Check the oil level.. obviously change if needed.. engines that are tuned properly.. have good spark air and fuel can still overheat if the oil is dirty and the shroud/fins are clogged preventing air to pass over the cooling fins.

Lastly would be fuel/air related. but it sounds like spark.
Best of luck

It makes a poping sound under a load like one plug does not fire then it does

Sounds like you have either a weak coil, a weak spark plug wire, or a bad plug. Replace your spark plugs first, they're the least expensive and easiest to replace.

To test the coil you need a "spark tester". It's a thing that looks like a writing pen but is adjustable. It will tell you the "strength" of your spark.

Good Luck

No fire at the plugs, battery fine, was running then just won't fire, checked for fire with spare plug on both cylinders, test light to coil wires no juice, 1993 Harley XL1200 sportster

Your Sporty has a fuse box somewhere. check the fuses to see if any are blown. Harley always puts their ignition systems on their own circuit. If you don't find anything that way, contact me directly at wd4ity@bellsouth.net and I'll scan a trouble shooting chart in and send it to you. There's more to the late models than there was with the early models.

My 1993 jeep wont start it cranks over . There

Most likely crank angle sensor if no spark at all, or a coil problem if very weak spark.
