Question about 2002 Yamaha TT-R 250
Hello and thanks for using Fixya, This is common problem usually from bad fuel, or if the bike has been sitting for a period of time. The carb will need to be removed and cleaned thoroughly. Remove the jets and use carb cleaner to spray threw the jets, then use air compressor and blow out the jets and carb. Make sure that air is passing threw each carb orifice. The jet that's causing your problem is the pilot jet its got a very small whole and can become clogged easily. So after cleaning this one hold it up to a light and make sure you can see threw it. If not its still plugged. Don't use any type of drill bits to clean it, it will ruin the jet size causing a bigger problem. A good trick is if you have a wire brush, cut on strand off and use it to probe the jet, use carb cleaner as ou do this and it should clear out. Then air it out again, look threw it to make sure its clear. If its still plugged you can try soaking overnight, repeat process above. Or just go buy a new pilot jet. Then replace in reverse order and you'll be riding in no time! If I can assist you any further please let me know, Thanks and good luck, Cycleworx157
