Lack of clutch fluid.. use 'dot 4' or recommended fluid. remove cap and drain excess fluid out and fill with the new. put cap back on and pump the clutch, clutch will tighten up and after a few pumps clutch should engage fully..

I just installed my transmission and it is like there is no slippage to it it is staying fully ingaged if i put my foot on thebrake it kills the motor un less i have the rear wheels jacked up i cant even...

I can only assume its a manual transmission. Sounds like the clutch isn`t installed correctly, and staying engaged. Recheck the throw out bearing is engaged in the forks correctly, sounds like its not disengaging the clutch. If its an auto then sounds like a problem with the torque converter.

This may be off the wall ... clutches do wear and need adjustment ... your bike is almost 30 years old ... has it been serviced recently? Might be worth a trip to the Yamaha Shop.

09 buell xb12r firebolt, problems when bike is running cant shift into nuetral

I have an 04 firebolt and sometimes it can be a chore getting nuetral on it also. Are you sure your not just skipping it by going to far with shift lever? I sometimes have to have it in 1st or 2nd and lightly let out on the clutch handle. Just enough that the clutch wants to ingage the gear . I rock the bike forward and back a little while looking for nuetral.
