Testimonial: "Thank you sir, I have serviced my bike for about 3 times during the problem Carburetor is clean air-filter is replaced and spark plug is of very better quality i think its NGK. now i will change the starting coil as you have said. i doubt about the rectifiers because battery and horn is also creating the problem but whenever i asked the service guy about to change rectifier he doesn't understand what i am talking about. Can you tell me rectifier circuitry is part of which component or which part i should ask the supervisor to change."

No spark,"Gardentech" (Netto/Aldi) how can I test ignition unit?

no meter needed just take the spark plug out then hook the coil wire back to it, try to find a dark area then hold the spark plug to the head anywhere that's metal and have a friend try to start it or do so yourself with the switch on of course. If it sparks at the end of the plug then the coil is good. If not install new plug , repeat procedure. Also, check all wire connections and ohlm out the switch why your at it.

2010 Honda Deauville 700 engine cuts out after 9 minutes running

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ignition coil.
2. Faulty spark plug cables.
3. Faulty temperature sensor.
4. Faulty starter motor.
5. Valves adjusted too tight.
6. Spark plug gap too wide.
7. Fuel has vapor lock.

Masport 635 starts, revs up once, and dies. Will start again a few pulls later. Carb diaphragm has been replaced with no change. Could it be ignition? Thanks.

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Carburetor

If the lawn mower engine stops after a few seconds, the carburetor might be clogged or have bad fuel in the float bowl. If old fuel was left in the lawn mower for a long time some of the volatile ingredients may have evaporated, leaving a thicker, stickier product that is more like varnish or shellac. This sticky fuel can clog up the small jets and ports in the carburetor and it can be difficult to burn allowing the engine to only run for a few seconds. The only solution is to drain the old fuel from the float bowl and thoroughly clean the carburetor with carburetor cleaner. If that isn't effective, replace the entire carburetor.

Carburetor Kit

If the engine stops after a few seconds it may not be getting enough fuel. The engine needs air, fuel and spark to maintain operation. The carburetor has two inputs, fuel from the gas tank and air through the air filter. The carburetor is designed to mix the air and fuel in a consistent ratio so that the engine can run continuously. If the carburetor is not getting enough air or fuel, or if the fuel is blocked inside the carburetor the engine stops after a few seconds. Rebuild the carburetor with this carburetor kit.

Gas Cap

If the lawn mower engine stops after a few seconds and then stops running, the gas cap might be defective. All gas caps have a small vent to allow air back into the tank when the engine is running - otherwise as gas is drawn from the tank it would create a vacuum. The vent can be difficult to see and there are many different types of vent. If loosening the gas cap a little allows the engine to stay running, replace the gas cap. It's sometimes possible to clean the vent, but on most newer engines the vent cannot be cleaned, it should be replaced.

Gas Cap with Gauge

If the lawn mower engine stops after a few seconds and then stops running, the gas cap with gauge might be defective. It's sometimes possible to clean the vent, but on most newer engines the vent cannot be cleaned, it has to be replaced.

Old or Bad Gasoline

If the lawn mower stops after a few seconds, the carburetor might be clogged or have old or bad fuel in the float bowl. If old fuel was left in the lawn mower for a long time some of the volatile ingredients may have evaporated, leaving a thicker, stickier product that is more like varnish or shellac. This old or bad fuel can clog up the small jets and ports in the carburetor and it can be difficult to burn allowing the engine to only run for a few seconds. The only solution is to drain the old or bad fuel from the float bowl and thoroughly clean the carburetor with carburetor cleaner. If that isn't effective, replace the entire carburetor.

Spark Plug

If the lawn mower engine stops after a few seconds the spark plug might be defective. All small engines have an ignition coil. The coil is the device that provides spark for the spark plug(s). If the coil is bad there won't be spark to the plug(s). The coil is essentially a small, induction generator. It is mounted next to the flywheel. The flywheel has one or more strong, embedded magnets. As the flywheel spins, the magnet(s) zip past the induction coil, this action of a magnet passing past a coil induces a voltage. Depending on the design of the coil and the strength of the magnets, a stronger or weaker spark can be created and delivered to the spark plug(s). Each time the flywheel spins around a spark is generated. The best way to test a spark plug is to use a spark plug tester. The spark plug should have a strong, visible spark between the electrodes when the engine is cranking. If it doesn't, replace it.

Bajaj Pulsar stops after some KMs

Hi, Surender you need to unblock the fuel tank vent line if it has one if it does not then you need to unblock the fuel cap venting system drill a small hole in the cap that will allow venting but no fuel escape or replace the fuel cap with a new one for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. Motorcycle starts idles good. runs with not much power seems all ranges affected . about 2 miles in bike sputters and stops running .let sit for one minute and it will kickstart and run for about 1/4 mile...

I suspect coil / wire / spark plug cap issues. Start with plugs and plug caps. Start the bike at night and observe coils and wires . Spray coils and wires with water if necessary to look for arcing wires. If coils are bad you may have to get Accell coil kit(comes with wires and caps). Honda coils are no longer available.

My 83 interstate runs and idles fint until it gets warm then it loses power and sounds like the pistons are changing holes then it dies and wont restart for a few min and when it starts again the process...

First try spark plugs and spark plug caps. If that doesn't fix it, then check the coils . you can check the ohm reading, if the coils read differently replace them both. Accell makes a bolt in replacement coil set with wires and caps PN# 140403 (you will need screw on domes for the spark plugs.) If you are still having the problem , then it is either the pulsar pickups (electronic ignitions version of points) or the cdi box. I think the coil kit is probably the cure.
