Voltage regulator failure, possibly overcharged the battery. Did any lights burn out? Is the battery water low or gone in any cells? Voltage regulator failure usually means no charging but it can overcharge to. Take battery to the shop for load test etc.

2013 v-rod. Fitted a new battery but bike keeps shutting off when engine is hot after a ride of 10km. And if I start the bike its OK for short time

indicates an ignition control/ coil problem that is happening when an internal component is breaking down from heat
take it in to a bike shop that handles your make and have it tested and properly diagnosed

What is causing my 2006 suzuki gsxr 600 to completely shut off while at cruising speeds

Ok lift the tank, remove the fuel line, get a long thin dowel that fits in the line and gently push from the opposite end to the tank, a small filter should come out, either bin it and put a large inline plastic filter in or clean it, or dont have one in. When these get old and blocked they cannot feed the engine at higher revs. it will heat up if fuel is not getting in, as mixtre goes mad. too weak gets hot

JUST REPAIRED BROKEN WIRE LEADING TO MY KICKSTAND BIKE WILL START IN NUTRAL BUT SHUT OFF WHEN PUT IN GEAR ALSO IM HAVING PROBLEM WITH BATTERY NOT RECHARGING ON THE BIKE

Your bike apparently has a safety mechanism where the engine shuts off while in gear, if the side stand is extended. The wire you fixed may not have been fixed properly. There is a switch at the end of that wire which senses the kick stand position. See if that switch is working properly. You can bypass the switch by shorting the wire, but remember it's a safety mechanism and it's better to keep it fixed.

Cranks but will not start

You need to check your charging system, if your stator is bad your battery will not charge. As far as it shutting down while riding that sound like you have an intermittent ground, so check all wire connections.

Is there a heat sensor on my yamaha raider that shuts off the bike when overheated

My 2013 model has an engine auto stop system. If the bike idles for 20 minutes, it'll shut down. I'll get an error code of 70. Just restart and the code will clear. Your bike may be the same.

Bike will not start or stay running on a full charge battery/bought brand new battery, still same promblem, jump bike off, will crank ,ride bike for 30 min. park bike, leave bike running, lights start's to...

sounds like the problem is your battery is not charging when you are riding. The most common cause is a faulty regulator / rectifier. Contact a motorcycle wreckers for these parts, or your yamaha dealer.
Easy way to test is, when your bike is running, and the lights start to dim, before the bike shuts down, using a volt meter, test the voltage at the battery terminals, should be about 14V. If faulty rectifier,no charge going in to your battery, then the reading will be low, about only a few volts. If you dont have a volt meter, then any mechanic shop can do this test for you. best to have this done before buying any parts.

Took a 500 m ile road trip and my battery would get over heated smell like rotten eggs and at one point shut down my whole bike. Had to replace battery 4 times before I got home. What could be the problem?

Not knowing what kind of bike you have, I can't tell which parts to change, but it is definately OVER-charging. the rotten-eggs smell is battery acid boiling(so to speak) out of battery. Have voltage regulator checked first tho

My 05 r1 temp gauge says high but it hasnt been started for 2 days. it also wont start i got a new battery but it still wont go

Sounds like the temp sending unit went bad and when they do it wont let the bike start cause if it goes bad while riding and the temperature goes up the computer shuts the bike down before you over heat the engine and trash it. Try disconnecting the battery and reconnect it after you replace the Temp sending unit.

Over heat shut down

Sounds like the thermostat has stuck closed. Have your mechanic remove it or change it.

Electrical problem

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, pls try recharging the battery again. Remove the connector to the voltage regulator. Start/run the bike. If it lasts more than "3-5 minutes" then you have just confirmed a defective regulator. The voltage regulator would look something like below image.
