HI THIS IS A NORMAL THREAD, TURNING IT CLOCKWISE WILL TIGHTEN IT , TURNING IT ANTI CLOCKWISE WILL REMOVE IT, LIKELY IT GAS BEEN LOCTITED AT SOME STAGE, TRY USEING SHOCK IF YOU DONT HAVE AIR TOOLS, TRY KNOCKING YOUR WRENCH IN AN ANTICLOCKWISE DIRECTION WHILE SOME 1 HOLDS ON THE REAR BRAKE FOR YOU.

tryd a impact wrench no luck even tryd a air hammer to shock the sprocket nut.

  • Anonymous Dec 09, 2010

hi what sort of torque is your air hammer? never known of 1 so difficult, it should just crack, unless some1 has previously overtightend it an striped the thread, like i said it is an anticlockwise removal on this bike, the trouble with inpact wrench unless it is powerfull enough the impact will be insufficiant because of the difficulty in keeping the sprocket still, you cant realy use heat because of the seal behinde it, you could put a long bar on the wrench afix your socket, wilh some one sitting on the bike holding the brakes with the bike in gear, try turning the nut, failing this other drastic measures include cutting the nut to remove it, from face to back, being carefull not to damage the thread or spline on the shaft with a hacksaw, pain staking but sucsesfull.

How do you tighten the nuts when changing the wheels on a 6 inch craftsman bench grinder. Thank you...

Clamp the shaft behind one wheel with 'Channelock' or 'Visegrip' pliers, then tighten both nuts. Check the new wheels for 'off-center' running by spinning them with your hand. They may fit the shaft tight enough that there is no centering adjustment--use a 'wheel dresser' (either a stone type or a multi-wheel type) to true up the wheel so that there is no radial wobble. Hope this helps!

How to stop shaft from turning to remove nut and replace wheel

If you put a wrench on the nut on the other end of the shaft, you have a 50/50 chance that the nut you want loose will come loose. If the wrong one comes loose, you can remove that nut completely (and the wheel) then take the nut with you to the store to buy another one. Then put two nuts back on and tighten them together as a jamb nut. Then try again. If the wrong nut still turns, you have to tighten the pair of nuts together tighter. good luck

How do I change a brush? I can't get the axle locked to get the nut off. Can you help me?

Remember if you are trying to change the left side it is a reverse thread nut. You would turn it clockwise to loosen. IF it is very tight, put a wrench on both sides. IF the right side comes loose, remove brush/grinding wheel, and re-install nut, with an extra nut locked to the first one, the put a wrench on both sides again.

Have tried everything, can't get one of the grinding wheels off.

On a bench grinder the wheels turn towards you. This means the grinding wheel on the right side, has a right and nut, and the left side has a left handed nut. If you're trying to remove the left side turn the nut counter-clockwise

Cant undo nut

No they are not left hand thead, normal r/h thread.
make sure chain is still on bike and front sproket and then try good rattle gun. if this does not work, put bike in gear and hold on rear brake and use long breaker bar, if still no good will need to heat front sproket nut with oxy set very carefully and rattle off with rattle gun while nut is hot

2001 YZF 600 R thunder cat: Yamaha yzf 600 Thundercat when under heavy load or...

Many YZF 600's have a problem with second or third gear, under heavy accelleration they will jump in and out of gear, the fix is in the gear selectors,an internal box problem.
If it is a clutch problem, ride in top gear at 100kl\hr and give the clutch lever a flick, see if it grabs or slips for a while and then takes up.
