PLAYSTATION3 80 GB has lights flashing:green, yellow, green then flashing red.had a dvd disk that would not eject.i took it apart and removed disk.the dvd had some damage in one spot.playstation will no

Hi there James
it seems to me like you have the yellow light of death, but don't worry this is something that can be fixed.
You have two options here
Option1 you can send the console to SONY for $150, they will send you a refurbished model oh and all data may be lost. The whole process usually takes about 4-6 weeks.
Option 2You can fix the problem at home with a PS3 repair guide worth only $40 a 3rd of the cost of sony, the ps3 will be fixed within the next hour or 2.
Hope this helps

PS3 switched off mid game, red light illuminated, touched on sensor green light illuminated for about 5 seconds then went back to off, red light again.

If the system flashes both the red and green light together, making a sort of yellow color, the system has overheated, and one of the main chips has become defective or detatched. This problem is known as the "Yellow-Light-Of-Death". If the system is still under warranty, contact Sony, and they should replace or repair it for you. If not, they will still repair it, it will just cost more, if the warranty seal is still intact. Hope this helps!

I went to turn on my ps3 the power light turned green then yellow, and then just flashes red? it never starts up?

send it back to sony.... its called the YLOD.(yellow light of death) same as the RROD (red ring of death) for the xbox 360. if its not under warranty then you could open it up and fix it yourself. look here.

it does work.. ive used the same method on a number of PS3. just follow the guide carefully

My playstation 3 just went off and now it wont come back on, the light goes green but then the red light flashes and it wont turn on

Yes, this is sometimes called the YLOD because of the way it flashed yellow before it goes to the red light.

Well you can fix it yourself using a good guide or you can send it in to be fixed.

Yes this is the YLOD (Yellow light of death) to fix it you need to stop the heat build up getting to the main chips in the motherboard to do this you should use the recommended PS3 Repair guide.

It is created by the same person as the top selling Xbox guide>>

My glowbouy flashes green and red...what does this mean

According to the owners manual for these swimming pool lights, this is what each colored indicator means. Hope this helps.

Solid green
The battery pack is fully charged.
Slow flashing green
The battery pack is almost fully charged.
Slow flashing yellow
The battery pack is half charged.
Medium flashing yellow
The battery pack is less than half charged.
Fast flashing yellow
The battery pack has almost no charge.
Fast flashing red
A charging error has occurred and the light should be unplugged and then plugged back in. If the Fast Flashing Red persists after several attempts, the battery condition is questionable.

Also in the trouble shooting guide, it mentions this:

Problem: Red Indicator Light Is Flashing While Charging

Solution:
A red flashing indicator light when charging indicates a selftest
error condition. Unplug the product and plug it in again.
Try this several times; if the indicator light continues to flash
red, unplug the GlowBuoy and take it to an authorized service
depot.

No 'green' light on bacl of my 'old' Vivitar 285

Then I'd say it's a reasonably sure thing that the green light is just burned out, The lights are supposed to be off at first, then red when there's a partial charge, then green when there's a full charge, then flashing between red and green when the "battery saver" kicks in. If you're seeing off, then red, then off, then flashing red, then that means everything in the charging circuit is working perfectly, there's just no green light.
