I installed a throttle body spacer on a 1990 chevy k-1500 5.7 literengine now i need to adjust the sesent or t.v. cable

Does the engine turn over when you try to start it? Make sure that there is spark by removing a plug then attach the pug to the plug wire and touch it to a good ground. Now turn the engine over and see if you have spark. If you have spark now check to see if there is fuel going into the intake through the throttle body. If no fuel try to pour a little down the throttle body opening and see it it fires. You have a spark or fuel problem for sure. Did you happen to bump the distributor when you were working on it? If you have a choke on a 1990 1500 ,something is really wrong.I have never seen a choke on a throttle body.If you don`t have fuel check your fuel pump.

the 1988 chevy 1500 had a adjustable kick down cable on the body. there should be 3 cables . 1 for the gas pedal and 1 for the kick down and the other is for cruise control

YEP 4T60E HAS A THROTTLE DOWN SHIFT CABLE.YOU NEED THROTTLE CABLE TO CONTROL THROTTLE VALVE AND ALL SHIFT VALVES IN VALVE BODY.YOUR THROTTLE VALVE CABLE CONTROL TRANSMISSION LINE PRESSURE THROUGH THE VALVE BODY.WHICH CONTROLS ALL SHIFTS.

It is located on linkage on throttle body.ene cable is throttle cable,one is cruise if equipped, and the other one will run to the transmission. It has a button you mash to adjust.It isn't obvious but you can get a screw driver and mash release/button and adjust. called detent cable.

check for vaccum from throttle body to egr solenoid,if you dont have vaccum your vaccum port is stopped up in the throttle body,then check for vaccum from solenoid to egr valve.

Check the TV cable to the transmission that is hooked to the throttle body. Sounds like it needs adjusted or hooked back up. Sometimes they also stick in the transmission, Try adjusting it first. You need to make it longer to lower the shift points. If this doesn't work let me know. It is likely stuck in the transmission and there is a trick to getting it unstuck.

If you still have the receipt to throttle body spacer, bring it back. The spacer does not do much for the 5.3 since the fuel injectors are not in the throttle body, but it in the intake manifold just before the intake ports to the cylinder heads. ICM idle control module, loc throttle body, it may be dirty, remove clean or replace, its easy..

Just a note, if this is an unaltered system, it should contain a sequential fuel injection system, which does not use a conventional throttle body. It uses a spider system instead, which is much different than the pre 1996 models.
