Question about Yamaha Crux Motorcycles

1 Answer

Sir, I have Yamaha Libero. It was very smooth. Recently I had a chain problem. The service person told it was the problem of GEAR KICK and I was forced to replace Primary Driven component, Gear kick and Gear kick idle. After replacing the spare, there is a high humming noise. The dealer said ,it would take time to get this noise removed. Other wise i HAVE TO REPLECE the surrounding gears which are in good condition. Is it true that the old gears and new gears will produce such noise . Please advice.

Normally when replacing gears in a gearbox, bike or car, the meshing must be checked to ensure that it is within specificatiom If the play is too great, the mating gear is normally replaced at the same time.
A humming noise sounds like a mainshaft or layshaft journal bearing is damaged. If it was a HarleyDavidson or British Bike, it will probably go on for a number of years as they were built to last.
I don't understand why the gearbox would need repair if it was a chain problem!

Being a Japanese bike and a recent repair, I would get it checked out with an authorized dealer.

2006 Yamaha Vstar custom starter issue

The one way clutch that engages the starter motor to the flywheel is chattered or damaged and needs to be replaced. The starter motor turns a small gear that is connected to a large gear by a small chain. On the side of the big gear is a smooth machined surface that the one way clutch grabs when the starter is engaged. The surface is chattered and the three grabber rollers wont jam or grab on the surface unless it is smooth therefore the starter spins but the motor does not. You will probably have to replace the large gear and possibly the three rollers also.

Engine Monotonous sound from new yamaha gladiator ss 125cc

The sound is being caused by something mechanical. It is not likely to go away by it's self. It will probably get worse. Don't wait for the next service. Take it in now before any more potential damage can be done. Check the oil level in the gearbox. It could be low.

I was riding my wr 250cc

Check the sprockets. Got a stick or rock binding the chain? Remove the chain. Does the wheel spin freely? Brake frozen?

Since your bike is water cooled, a seized piston is not too likely. Got water in the radiator? Most likely is a broken torsion spring on the kick start shaft. The adjacent ratchet wheel and the kick shaft should be inspected. The ratchet wheel should have a smooth movement. If not then replace it. The kick shaft should not show wear or damage. The same is true for the kick gear and idler gear. Replace as needed.

The only other possibilities are a frozen main bearing, (not likely), a broken or severely bent shift fork, (more likely than a main bearing).

Please rate this solution. Thanks!
