SOURCE: how to change oil in 2003 HD FXD Dyna Super Glide

remove the drain plug from the oil pan, you will need either a 3/4" box wrench or a 5/8" box wrench and the drain plug will be facing forward on the the oil pan. It is easiest to remove this drain plug from under the right side of the bike. put drain plug back in after about 10 m,inutes of drain time and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. Dont forget to change the oil filter as well.

SOURCE: I just bought a 2003 Super Glide and want to know

Since the oil tank for the engine is on the bottom of the transmission, the dipstick of the engine oil is on the large round cap where you add the oil to the tank on the right side of the bike on the corner of the transmission.

It has two marks on it, "Full Hot" and "Full Cold". Keep the oil level between the two marks. Do not overfill.

Good Luck
Steve

What weight of oil should I use?

Amsoil notes that all Harley-Davidson motorcycles use 20W50 motor oil.

I don't recommend Amsoil motor oils, as I've no experience with their products, I just
checked their web site so you'd have someplace to verify my info.

Ii have 2003 dyna super glide FXD. Have oil on rear head spark plug and oil in the hole I can wipe off with a paper towel. Some who follow me say they see blue smoke coming out of one the...

Sounds like you may have a head gasket leak. The oil journals for draining are on the far sides of the cylinders, so a leak there would cause oil to enter the cylinder. Is the engine a very high compression engine?

I just bought a 2003 Super Glide and want to know where the "dipstick" to check the oil is located!

Do you need to oil the air filter before installing it? 03 dyna super glide

hi
it depends on the atmosphere and the type of filter used in it.
using oil in filter may inprove the filtering process but if you use excess amount of oil in it, it may block the air passage which makes insufficient combustion

if using oil use in the correct quantity.soak the filter in oil and hang it for few mins so that only traces of oil wil remain it so that it doesnt restrict the passage of air

if my answer were useful to you please vote me.
