Question about 2003 Suzuki RM 125

2 Answers

I have a suzuki RM125. I was riding and it just stalled out. Engine quit and would not start again. I changed the spark plug and cleaned the carb. Drained the gas and refilled. Checked the shutoff switch and can not find the problem. It acts like it is not getting gas, but If I continue to give it throttle, it floods out. Any suggestions?

If your confident of a good spark, then your issue is fuel delivery. Try raising the slide needle by going down one notch on the needle. Jets and needle seats should be cleaned in a good quality carburettor cleaning solvent. Jets should be replaced if suspect. Check condition of reeds. Is the airbox and filter in good condition. Check for leaks around inlet manifold. Goodluck, cheers!

Starts then sputters and stalls. Have to wait to start again.

Check your spark plug to see if it is firing good. You do this by taking the spark plug out and put the wire on it and hold the tip of the plug on the metal of the engine with a good insulated pair of pliers and crank the engine over. If the spark is blue then you have a fuel problem, most of the time it is a dirty carb that will need removed and cleaned. If the spark is weak then it is a ignition problem. Change the plug and check the flywheel and coil for rust it may need cleaned good.

I just purchased a 1985 Suzuki RM 250 that hasn't been started in 8 years. What suggestions would you have before I try and start it?

Change gearbox oil, install a new spark plug. Check for spark before installing the plug. Remove, dis-assemble, and clean the carb by soaking it in denatured alcohol for 15 minutes then finish with a can of spray carb cleaner. Wear goggles to protect your eyes from the spray.
In stall a new air filter. Remove the gas tank and clean it out. Install an in-line fuel filter to prevent trash from the tank getting into the carb. Use a can of spray starting fluid on the air filter to aid in starting.

make sure your carb float level heights are good. make sure fuel pump is working properly. could be a fuel or temperature problem. slim chance it could be valves.

Why would a suzuki 4-wheeler not start. I have

Did you change the fuel filter? Is there a way to confirm that you're getting gasoline to the carburetor? If it fired once it should mean that you have spark to the plugs but there could also be a short in the kill switch circuitry that kills the ignition system. Pull a spark plug and put it in the spark plug wire socket, ground it against the motor and crank the engine and see if you're getting a good spark. Ensure that the air filter isn't dirty.

Suzuki rm125 1983 engine

It will not necessarily hurt anything but it is not quite right. Be sure th shut off the gas when not riding the bike. Check and be sure the gas valve is shutting off the gas fully.

My suzuki bandit gsf250 will not start, there are spark and feul. can you help me

1.Do you have a fuel filter? maybe it's clogged up, and needs to be cleaned or replaced.
2.If no fuel filter, it could be you need to clean your carburateur.
hope its the first, but no worries if it's the second, it's quite easy to do.
hope it starts soon, so you can get back to riding.
greetzzzz, Gilbert.
