Factory service manual - do a google search for it - you will mess the head up if you don't follow the process to a tee.

SOURCE: 93 artic cat jag head torque pattern and specs

the best place to find it is the service manual. if not avail. i usually 1, tighten it to ~10-20Nm in a 'outwards spiral' fashion, ie start tightening from centre bolts outwards. 2, spiral tighten by 1/4 turn, 3, another 1/4 turn, and 4, final 1/4 turn.

04 Cadillac srx overheated fix that now hard to start

what did you fix to cure the problem? if you removed head, check everything again especially compression. if compression is bad then remove head get it shaved to flatten and replace head gasket with "Felpro" brand. THEN ( extremely important ) TORQUE the head bolts in the proper pattern. Do 1/3 torque increments (i.e. if ultimate torque is 90ft lbs then do full pattern at 30, then full pattern at 60 then 90ft lbs then one more time at 90. check to see if you need angle gauge. If so, procedure is MUCH more complicated.

Head torque and pattern

The S-10 had two (2) different head bolts, a long bolt and a short one . The torque on the long one is 46ft./lbs. and an additional 90 degrees . The short one is 43ft./lbs. and an additional 90 degrees .

Looking at the head from the front of the vehicle, follow this torque sequence :
Start with the center bolt on the passengers side (left side of the head), followed by the center bolt on the drivers side (right side of the head) . Then torque the bolt behind the center bolt on the passengr side . Next torque the bolt in front of the center bolt on the drivers side . Then torque the bolt behind the center bolt on the drivers side . Next torque the bolt in front of the center bolt on the passeger side . The torque the last bolt on the drivers side, followed by the front bolt on the passenger side, followed by the last bolt on the passenger side, and lastly, the front bolt on the drivers side .

Can't find the torque head bolt pattern for a 1996 gmc sierra 5.7 vortex

The "pattern" for ANY cylinder head is pretty much the same...start with the bolts in the center of the head and work your way out to both ends.
Torquing the cylinder head on your 5.7L Vortec engine to manufacturer specifications requires the use of a "torque angle" gauge, as well as a traditional torque meter.

The torque specifications are as follows:

> Step 1: All bolts: 22 Ft Lbs (30 Nm.)
> Step 2: Short bolts: Additional 55 degrees; Medium bolts: Additional 65 degrees; Long bolts: Additional 75 degrees

I need to know torque specs and torque pattern for a 2001 head gasket on my 2001 sunfire

HINT: The "torque pattern" on ALL cylinder heads is start in the center and work your way toward the ends. The specifications below are "torque-to yield" or "torque angle" specs. When in doubt, about 65 Ft. Lbs. will work on pretty much ANY aluminum head. The main point is to get them EVEN to prevent warpage.

It's not quite that simple on Evo heads. They torque in a particular pattern in three steps. I cannot send the torque pattern to you via this forum. If you'll contact me directly at wd4ity@bellsouth.net , I'll give you the torque pattern and sequences.

Good Luck

Hi, I neeed to know what the torque pattern is for

If your installing a new head gasget, the torque spects and pattern will come with it. If not and you are installing a new head gasget you have to use new head bolts, the short bolts witch go in next to exhaust manafold are 43 ft. lbs. and the longer ones in the center of the head are 46 ft. lbs. start with the one in the middle by exhaust and next one in center of head next to it and do the rest in a circle pattern, after you got them all torque than you have to turn each one 1/4 turn, thats why you have to use new bolts that 1/4 turn stretches the bolts. If you don't understand this go to auto zones web sight thats where i found it. I just did one 2 weeks ago.
