Question about 2000 Harley Davidson FLHTCUI Electra Glide Ultra Classic
Remove the negative cable from your battery. Remove the outer primary cover. From the right side of the motorcycle, you can access the two large allen head bolts that hold the starter to the backside of the inner primary case. Remove the two bolts. Return to the left side of the bike. Grab the starter pinion gear with a channel lock pliers and remove the 7/16 jack shaft bolt. You should now be able to remove the starter. Be careful as you pull the starter out because there is a coupler on the end of the shaft that you don't want to let fall.

I'm sorry but I cannot answer your question. I don't have any knowledge of the Indian engine nor do I have any mechanical drawings of the engine. If it was one of the earlier models that used an S&S engine, I could probably help but I seem to think that model is equipped with an Indian engine. There may be an Indian Forum on the Internet where you may find some help. There's probably more than one. Some are more useful than others. You may wind up having to purchase a service manual to find out how remove your starter. Sorry.
