If the turn signals are flashing, I would guess something to do with the security system. I know nothing about those systems. Sorry!

Good Luck

How to deactivate the security alarm

Replace the batteries in the fobs. Or, if you know your security pin code, you can enter it my using the turn signal buttons.Turn the bike on and push in both turnsignal buttons at the same time until the red secruity lite begins flashing. Enter the first number of the code by pressing the left turn signal switch the same number of times as the first number of the code. Press the right turn signal switch once to advance to the next number of the code and use the left switch to enter the second number. Do this for all 5 numbers in the code. After all 5 numbers are entered, you can start the bike. If you don't know the code, take the bike to a Harley dealer and have them hook the bike up to Digital Technician and they can retrieve the code for you.

When shift the lever to left turn signal it flashes faster than normal and to lighting side

that is to tell you that one of the exterior bulbs is not working-turn the key on, push the turnsignal lever so the left signal is activated, and get out and look at the front and back of the car to determine what bulb is out.

1997 gmc sierra extended cab - turn on the right turn signal and all of the lights go on but do not flash on and off and get a single buzz from the flasher unit. turn on the left turn signal and all works...

I would start by replacing the flasher, then if you still have a problem then check the bulbs for the rightside, make sure they all are good and the sockets are good, this sounds like a bad flasher.

My back break lights are not working the inside lights stay on when car is off car says hazard ligths are on when they are not and when car is off it beeps like you left the keys in the ignition when they...

beeping maybe light on warning instead of key warning. Brake lights go through the hazard and turnsignal switch. Hazards may not be flashing due to bad flasher, but may be turned on. Most likely possibility is hazard switch contact in combination switch (hazard and turnsignal switch in one unit). Unplug the turnsignal switch at the bottom of the steering column and see if the problems go away, and you will know if that is it.

Im have a prob with getting my 1989 cabrio to start. It just quit on me on day. I changed the fuel pump, but still no luck. It turns over, just wont start.....need help!!

First, turn on the key, just to the run position.
try everything that should normally only work with the key on, headlights, turnsignals, horn etc.

the first three generations of vw had somewhat weak ignition switches, especially if the owner had a tonne of keys, keychains, teddy bears and **** dangling off their key ring.

if these thing do not work with the key in the on position, then you need an ignition switch.

if they do work you need to investigate further to find out if you have fuel delivery and\or correct fuel pressure and if you have spark

Can i stop the auto door locks from locking everytime it moves

Yes, I have a 2000 model and the book says this. You will need to be prepared to move the unlock button, keyswitch, and turnsignal in this sequence.

Pull BACK on the turnsignal and hold it.
Turn the keyswitch ON,OFF,ON,OFF-

You will hear the doorlocks work.

RELEASE the turnsignal and within 10 SECONDS-

Press the UNLOCK side of the drivers doorlock 3 TIMES
Turn the key to ON, Pause, OFF

That should do it. Good Luck

Turn Sigal wont work and headlights dim

You will need to use a test light to verify voltage at the turn signal flasher.
Turn the key on to the run position, car does not need to be started.
Set the turn signal switch to right or left turn, doesn't matter.
Probe the "purple" wire terminal at the flasher unit. If the turn signal switch is working properly, you will have voltage at the flasher unit.
If you do not have voltage, the switch may be the problem, make certain all connectors to the steering column are fully seated and there are no broken wires.
Good luck and let me know.
