Look under the "typical driver side" right above the chain, under the rear cowl cover there is a key lock. Use the key for the ignition to unlock that lock, as you unlock it pull up on the cowl cover and it will slide right off, if you have the rear pillion"back seat", then you will just pop it right on. And it will be the same procedure to remove and replace that if you want to.

How to install stock seat on 2010 heritage softail

Hi Bill, seat removal can range from the simple and obvious to the complex and baffling for the novice new Harley Davidson owner. Seems like the more expensive the bike is the harder it is to remove the seat. So let's start with the most expensive. 99% of all Harley seats have a male tounge in the front that slides into a female reciever that is either bolted or welded to the frame just behind the fuel tank. For this reason when ever you are removing a seat you must always slide it backwards 3-5 inches. Next they may may have a bolt on each side usually under a flap on the seat. Then there is the seat strap that is secured on both sides, only one side needs to be removed. A single screw can secure it to the rear fender or it may have a bracket with two studs secured by nuts or knobs to fasten the rear portion of the seat. If you have a pillion pad or passenger seat that snugs up against the front seat there can be a screw securing the two to the rear fender, you have to get your hand in between the two seats and force seperation of seat material to see and gain acess to the screw. Finally there is the rear seat screw in the back that is the caboose of seat fasteners, usually a large chrome bracket, that screws into the rear fender. Care must be exercised in covering this shinny bauble with your hand during the sliding back procedure so as to NOT scratch the tour pak. So when all the hidden and mysterious fasteners have been removed, it's lift up in the rear, slide backwards a few inches and bingo you have mastered the impossible. Good luck.

How do i remove the seat on a fatboy 2003 Anniversary Edition

If it's the stock seat, there is a screw at the back of the seat that screws into a fitting on the rear fender. There are also an Allen bolt on each side at the rear of the driver seat that screw into the frame. Undo these three, pull the seat up and back and off it comes.

Providing that it is a stock seat, remove the screw at the back of the seat, (at the center of the fender), lift the back of the seat and pull the seat towards the rear of the bike.

Changing rear fender on 2003 fatboy

Here's my 2 cents... you need to remove the seat, saddlebags, disconnect battery, dsconnect the wiring harness, remove the signal lamps and the hardware securing the fender. There are torque values u need to know when installing the new one. This is all in the service manual for your model. I would go to the dealer and get one, you want all the specs correct and thats the only way to get em
