When im topping up the oil , how do i know when its the right leval , honda crf250 2005, 1st 4 stroke iv had.

Poor it in a little at a time once you poured a little in let sit for ten min then check it using the dip stick if not at right level add more and repeat

Unsure about gas setup


Hi and welcome to FixYa,

It would appear that there are 2 questions/users on this post. Still, on your bike, normally, the tank hold plain gas, not premixed. The 2-stroke oil (2T) has its own reservoir attached to the right side, on the frame. The filler would be exposed and relatively easy to access and fill up.

On the Gearbox oil for 2-stroke engines with a wet clutch, SAE 10W40 is the standard.

The two most important aspects of four-stroke maintenance are frequent oil/filter changes, and regular valve clearance checks/adjustments. And some four-strokes (RMZ450 for example) have a manual timing chain tensioner that must be regularly checked/adjusted. Everything else is exactly like a two-stroke.
