Why not hang a 12 volt source on the terminals, (starter solenoide, battery connection). That is what I do when changing batteries in vehicles. Saves the trouble of re coding the radios.
Hope this helps.

How do you access trouble codes on 2003 harley davidson deuce?

With the newer HD Security Systems using proximity FOBs where the key FOB needs to be close to the bike to start, this is now more important then ever. If the battery in your FOB dies and you have not set your Harley Alram Override PIN Code, you will not be starting your bike. I HAVE A 2007 HARLEY DAVIDSON CLASSIC SOFTTAIL. SECURITY SYSTEM PROBLEM. I HAVE REPLACED BATTERY & KEY FOB STILL COMPUTER WILL NOT ALLOW ME ENTRY TO DISARM & WILL NOT CRANK. DID STEP BY STEP OWNER...

If you do not know the security code, you can reset it to your own choosing.
With the fob present, turn IGN switch:
IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION
Press LEFT turn signal switch 3 TIMES
Press RIGHT turn signal switch 1 TIME and release
Turn signals will flash 3 times. Current PIN will appear in odometer. The first digit will be flashing.

If changing PIN, enter first digit (a) of new PIN by pressing LEFT signal switch (a) time(s) i.e., for the number 1, press one time. for the number 5, press 5 times.

Press RIGHT signal switch 1 TIME and release.
the new digit (a) will replace the current in odometer window.

Enter second digit (b) with LEFT signal switch.

Repeat until PIN is set.

Once PIN is set (either new or old PIN), to disarm security system, DO NOT sit on seat, lift bike off kick stand, or anything else that will activate the security mode!

Turn IGN to IGNITION.

Quickly (within 2 seconds) hold BOTH turn signal switches until confirmation signal (KEY icon flashes at fast rate, in odometer window, a flashing "-" will be followed by 4 more dashes = "----")

Enter 1st digit (a) in PIN by pressing LEFT turn signal switch (a) times (i.e., 5 times for the number 5)
The 1st "-" will become the 1st digit (i.e., "5")

Press RIGHT switch signal 1 TIME.
The 1st digit is stored and the dash will flash.

Enter 2nd digit (b), and repeat sequence until done.

After the 5th digit is entered, the KEY icon stops blinking, and the system is disarmed.

The system will stay off until the IGN switch is turned off.

If at any time during disarming sequence an error is made, wait 2 minutes before trying again.

How to deactivate the security alarm

Replace the batteries in the fobs. Or, if you know your security pin code, you can enter it my using the turn signal buttons.Turn the bike on and push in both turnsignal buttons at the same time until the red secruity lite begins flashing. Enter the first number of the code by pressing the left turn signal switch the same number of times as the first number of the code. Press the right turn signal switch once to advance to the next number of the code and use the left switch to enter the second number. Do this for all 5 numbers in the code. After all 5 numbers are entered, you can start the bike. If you don't know the code, take the bike to a Harley dealer and have them hook the bike up to Digital Technician and they can retrieve the code for you.

if the battery is too weak to start the vehicle, the alarm will keep resetting, tripping the alarm. When installing a new battery, you'll need an assistant to turn the ignition on simultaneously while attaching the negative cable last.

Where do I enter the 5 digit deactivation code to unlock my bike?

Turn the ignition key on and immediately hold down both turn signal buttons until 5 dashes appear in the odometer window, then release both buttons. Enter the first digit of the 5 digit security code, or PIN code, by pressing the left turn signal button - if the first number is 3, press the left turn button three times. Press the right turn signal button once to go to the next number and continue until the code is entered then press the right turn signal button once more. That's it. Don't mess up more than three times, though - I have heard it can create major issues, so be cautious.

I hope this is what you were looking for.
