Question about 2007 Honda VT 750 Shadow
Honda equips it's motorcycles with a pollution storing device called a pollution tube. Place a pan in front of the rear wheel and look for the tube that has a plug in the end of it. Pull the plug and all the engine blow by , water, and other horrible gack will fall out of the tube and into the pan. This should drain the the bottom the air box of oil. Typically , what you are seeing in the air box is everything that comes out the engine breather. If there is a lot of oil , your engine was over filled and the excess went out of the breather rather than pop a seal or gasket. If it smells like gas, CHECK YOUR OIL LEVEL. If one of your carburetors had a float needle stick you may have gas in your oil . This can happen even though all the motorcycle components are good. Just change your oil and always turn your gas off when you are not riding , and you will not fill your engine with gas again.
