Question about 2006 Yamaha V Star Custom

1 Answer

First I replaced the pipes on my 06 650 yamaha v star custom with V&H cruzers. I then re-jetted the carbs. Now I can't get a low idle. I checked and adjusted the float level. replaced the pilot jet (# 20) same as orig. I ran a pin drill through the orig. made the hole too big. So I replaced it with OEM. Main jet is a 90 I believe. came in the kit I ordered as recomended by V&H.What order do I follow sync. carbs, adj.mix. adj. idle speed or mix. idle speed then sync. or idle sync., mix. How should I proceed?

FIRST, YOU DIDN'T NEED TO REJET THE CARBS. I WOULD PUT THE STOCK JETS BACK IN IT WILL RUN JUST FINE. YOU NEED TO HAVE IT RUN ON AN EGA MACHINE TO TUNE IT PROPERLY.
