Question about 2004 Yamaha TT-R 225

My 2004 ttr was not running right so i took apart the carb to clean it. i was being careful but when i took the top off... the spring, washer and little metal pin came out and i dont know the correct way to place them back.

04 Honda Rubicon Foreman 500.I took apart the carburetor/cleaned it because of old gas.When I reassembled it it now only runs at half throttle even the throttle is depressed fully. Help!


the diaphragm in the top of the carburettor sounds like it is not lifting the slide up.i would say either the spring in there is jammed up or bent over or the rubber diaphragm itself is not sealed around the top of the carb properly ,you should assemble it by using red rubber grease to stick the diaphragm into the groove in the top of the carb.

2001 ttr 225 bike sat all last year. Would start this spring but not idle. Now it won't start. I know the carb had old gas. Where can I find a manual so I can take it apart and know what parts to...


Start by removing and cleaning the carb, it may not need any parts.
also change the oil, fit new air filter, new spark plug, and check the valve clearances

Gas is going in to the air filter the bike will not idle something is causing gas to go into air filter took carburetor apart everything was clean dim. height how to check flow height


do you mean the floats? if so then take the carb apart again and inside the bottom half you will see 2 pieces of plastic on a spring number 22 on pic when you blow through the petrol intake pipe air will escape from near the floats when you lift them up the air will shut of which is what will happen when the carb is full of petrol if the air dosnt shut of the floats need adjusting bend the spring carefully upwards ( I DO MEAN CAREFULLY) then try again you may have to do this a few times untill you get it right

i would check the needle height first unscrew the throttle cable fromt the top of the carb watch out for the spring and you will see the needle inside the sleeve number 8 on the pic
the needle is number 7 remove the plastic washer from the bottom and pull the needle up a bit you willl see notches on the side of the needle just slide the washer down the side untill it clips into the one you want that will reduce the amount of petrol going into the carb

Piston rings may be sticking after sitting for so long. It may serve you well to remove the top end, paying special attention to the timing alignment as you do. Visually inspect the piston and rings. ensure the rings can move freely in their grooves. Look at the piston for signs of blow-by. A burned up surface of the piston that extends past the rings onto the skirts. You may simply re-ring this machine and it would solve your problem if you view these problems.

Sears leaf blower will not start normally


Your problem is that the jet valve is being partially blocked. unscrew the carb. label the intake gas line and then the outflow, so you wont get mixed up when reattaching. unscrew both sides of the carb, on one side of the carb will be the pump diaphram and the other side will be another diaphram. you will see the metering valve which I have termed the "jet valve" unscrew the screw that holds it together with a phillips screwdriver. Be careful!!!, there is a tiny spring that pops out and is easily lost. Use a carb spray and clean all ports and holes. spray the jet and spring. On reassembling the spring be careful. Use a 150+ reading glasses if you are unable to see well. Carefully place the spring in the indented spot, place the jet between the grooves of the tiny leaver making sure that there is a part that must fit on the spring. If you fit it upside down then the machine will die off at full throttle. slip in the pin. Press down the spring and screw down the phillips screw. reassemble the carb exactly as you took it apart. It is important to remember or document. The first time i did it I made a tiny scratch between parts so i knew how to align them properly. After reassembly try starting. Rev at full throttle, if problem persists check the filter inside the gas tank it may be clogged. If it is replace. If problem is still there, open the carb again where the check valve is located, place a flat steel ruler over the valve assembly and press down the end with the jet. This will level the jet. If problem persist get a carb kit. Your carb will either be a zama or walbro.

I own a 2004 TTR-225-S and when we try to start it will not get any gas to flow to the carburator


remove fuel line from petcock and see if fuel runs out, if not remove petcock from tank and clean filter screen, if it does come out, check for inline fuel filter change it, if it dont have one check fuel pump if it has one, or could be diaphrams in carb split and not building vaccuum to draw gas thru

Hard starting of a yamaha ttr 225 after sitting for several weeks. Could starter plunger in the carb be bad?


I had a similar problem with my TTR 125. I removed the carb, removed the float bowl and gave a a careful clean. I also removed the choke plunger mechanism and gave that a few shots of penetrating lube oil. The choke mechanism works much smoother as a result.
Just those two simple things and my bike fired up right away.
