Sounds like the front brake light switch is broken. To repair it, you'll have to take the right handlebar switch housing apart.

Good luck

2005 ford escape rear tail lights stay on

Sounds like the brake lights are staying on, which is probably a faulty brake light switch on the pedal.

I need a brake pedal extender for a 2005 Harley Davidson Sportster Custom. Where can I purchase one or what can I do to resolve my issue. My air cleaner sticks out which makes it very uncomfortable...

I have never seen a rear brake pedal extender and have no idea of where to get anything like that. You say your air cleaner sticks out so far that it's uncomfortable to apply the rear brake? Has the air cleaner been changed? The original air cleaner is about as close fitting as one can get.

Good Luck

When i press on the rear break, the break light does not come on. break light will come on with the front brake engaged. have checked the bulbs.

The rear brake has a pressure switch that turns the rear brake light on and off. If it's working correctly with the front brake, this switch is the first place I'd go to. Make sure the wires a firmly plugged onto it.

You can find the switch by following the metal line that comes out of the rear of the rear brake mastercylinder. It'll have two wires connected to it.

Harley sportster 883 2005. Both the tail light and break light filiment stay on with no difference when brake is applied.

Not sure I understand your question. The tail light filiment goes on with lights and brake light filiment goes on when brake is applied. The extra filiment makes the tail light go brighter. If both filiments are on when lights go on then applying the brake won't change the intensity. You might have bad brake light switch causeing brake light to stay on.Have to do some checking to see if it's front or rear switch.

The brake light stays and will not operate with front or rear lever

I'm assuming that you are saying that the brake light is staying on and neither the front nor rear brake lever makes any difference.

Check the postition of the front master cylinder and the throttle control switch housing. They must be positioned so that they are snug against each other. If there is too much distance between the switch housing and the master cylinder, the little brake light switch will be constantly in the outward postion turning on the brake light. Depressing either lever will have no effect.

If that's not the problem, go to the rear brake lever and check the adjustment of the rear brake lever. It must have some freeplay so that the rear master cylinder returns all the way when you let off the brake. If not, the rear brake will get tighter and tighter as you ride and use the brake.

Good Luck

How to adjust rear brake/2005 harley 883xl sportster

There is a pedal height adjustment on the right side of the bike. If your brakes are dragging or not applying properly, you have a caliper problem, blocked line, bad master cylinder or mis-adjusted master cylinder plunger. It does have the correct DOT 5 fluid at the recommended level, right?

Left signal flashes right doesnot signals wont light up for night

Replace the bulb in the tail light. It's dual filament bulb. Brake light is separate from the running light.
