Question about Harley Davidson FXDX Dyna Super Glide Sport Motorcycles
To remove your starter, you need to disconnect the battery first. Then drain the primary and remove the outer primary cover. Once in there, remove the small bolt that holds the jackshaft on and remove the jackshaft. There is a connector that connect the output shaft of the starter to the end of the jackshaft. This connector goes in a certain way. Make sure you mark the connect so you know which end goes inward.
Then go to the right side of the bike. Remove the exhaust if it is in the way. Remove the battery cable connected to the starter. Take out the two large bolts that hold the starter onto the inner primary.
