Question about 2008 Harley Davidson FLHX Street Glide
If the gauge is built into a "cap" on the top of your tank, it's held in by an 0-ring. Carefully wiggle the gauge side to side and pull up. The wires from the gauge sender unit are very short so be careful. If you need to take the sender unit out, remove the five screws and lift the sender unit. As you lift it, carefull turn the unit allowing it to come out of the tank. It's a real pill, believe me. Do not bend the rod.
