1995 ford windstar thermostat housing bolt torque spec

Most people don't bother using a torque wrench to tighten a thermostat housing.

It is more important to be careful and tighten each bolt a little at a time. You do not want to warp, crack, miss align the part you are bolting.

It does not take a lot of torque to seal a thermostat housing. I would guess somewhere between 15 and 20 ft lbs.

It is often hard to find such torque specs for specific vehicles.

For bolts that you cannot find a specified torque spec, you can refer to a standard bolt torque chart. The charts are based on the diameter of the bolt threads not the wrench size used to fit the bolt head. The charts also depend on the hardness of the bolt material. Also keep in mind the material you are bolting into.

Here is one such chart...
http://www.dansmc.com/torque_chart.htm

Keep in mind that thermostat housing bolts are just sealing a gasket. They are not holding the entire car together.

After turning wrenches for many years, most mechanics just know by feel.

There are cases where a torque wrench is mandatory. Like head bolts, wheel bearing/hub nuts, rod caps, main bearing, etc.

What are the torque specs for the 4 pressure plate bolts for the clutch?

What year is it??

I am only familiar with newer models as per touring/six speed:

Install six bolts (5) (metric) to secure diaphragm spring
retainer to clutch hub. Alternately tighten bolts to 90-110
in-lbs (10.2-12.4 Nm).

I need the Torque PTO Clutch specs for a cub cadet LTX 1050 kw. How can you prevent the crank from turning while checking the torque ?

If I remember correctly, It's 75 ft/lbs. then 185 ft/lbs. You can use a big screwdriver in the flywheel teeth to hold it, or get a bar on the crank bolt. Might need an extra set of hands for it though!

Where to find torque specs for bolts...pressure plate, slave cylinder, tranny to engine, and starter?

try the haynes manual ,never used a torque meter in 40 yrs of fixing cars ,so to me the clutch is a 3/8th ratchet and hold the ratchet half way down ,go around bolts twice though to pull clutch down evenly ,slave cylinder is alloy and so is the bell housing so again not too tight ,now the bell housing bolts need a good grounch about 70lbs at a rough guess but again 1/2inch drive and a knuckle bar is favourite .starter 3/8th drive full length of rachet bar will do and agin do them twice

Bolt torque specs for flywheel, pressure plate, bell housing bolts for 97 Nissan maxima

1.Flywheel - 61 to 69 Foot Pounds
2.Pressure Plate - 25 to 33 Foot Pounds
3.Bell Housing - No specs found. I would say 25 to 35 foot pounds should be sufficient.

Bolts clean on ->flywheel to crank, ->pressure plate to flywheel, and ->bell housing to back of engine, I would use TWO drops of Loctite Red threadlocker, on ALL of these bolts.

Hope you have an alignment tool for your clutch disk when you install it. Auto parts stores sell the plastic one's cheap! Saves a LOT of headaches!

Tighten the pressure plate EVENLY! Snug the bolts down until they just TOUCH, then go in a criss-cross pattern when tightening. Do the tightening in incremental stages! You turn one bolt one thread, you go across to the opposite side, and turn that bolt one thread. Keep criss-crossing so the pressure plate goes down EVENLY. (YES, it's a pain in the keister!)

If NOT, you'll have a warped pressure plate, and it will be junk!
Thanks for letting me say that, I feel better.
