Drain the fluid and measure it, the drain plugs are at the bottom of the forks leg, then unscrew the cap at top fork tube and install the same amount of fork oil as drained out.

What type of transmission fluid do I put in my 2003 suzuki rm250?

Specifically use "two stroke gear oil".
Personally I use Castrol MTX Gear Oil, SAE 75W-80. My bikes are an '84 Yamaha IT250 and a '01 YZ250. I have had no issues with clutch bind or sticking and change oil every 12-15 riding hours or 6 months. There are many highly rated specific 2-stroke gear oils, go for one that is readily available in a variety of places as it is wise to stay with one oil.
In general, cheap oils are pointless and Brand names (BMW, SUZUKI Oil etc.) are re-blended common oils. Bel-Ray, Castrol, Amsoil etc are much the same and are all excellent. Cheers!

Just need diagram on how to change transmission fluid

The VL1500 has a integral gearbox, it uses the same oil supply as the engine. Once you drain the engine oil you will be changing the gearbox oil. Suzuki's are not like Harley's with a seperate gearbox, also it will pay to use a good quality oil filter.

Can i drain the transmission fluid on a 05 suzuki forenza my self?

yes. HOWEVER, whe you refill it. make sure that you put in the correct type of oil. refer to your owner manual prior to putting in any old automatice trranny fluid as some tranny's require a sopecial type of oil, put in the wrong one and you fry your transmission. If its a standard, put in the correct weight of gear oil. Not trying to scare you, but i want to make sure that your REFER TO YOUR OWNERS MANUAL for the correct type of oil to put in after you drain it.

good luck.

Transmission Fluid Specs

Castrol Syntec motorcycle 10-40wt is what i woul recommend and you have a dipstick. So if you have drained the old fluid start by pouring in 1 qt. then check the dipstick w/ bike level on level ground. Then add a little oil at a time until full..If you have a sightglass instead of a dipstick then fill half to 3/4 up the sightglass. Buy 2qts while your at the store...good Luck to you friend...Tim

The oil can be drained removing the NEAS system valves ( 2 allen bolts ).
System contains 456 cc ( 15.4oz.) oil in each leg.
the oil-level measured from the top of the COMPRESSED leg is 107mm.
To measure:
- have an oil-suction pump
- Make a tube with a stopper at 130mmfrom the end.
Drill a little hole ( 3mm ) at 107mm (4.21in) of the stopper.

More oil will tighten the suspension, less will soften it a bit.
Oil type: SAE15

Hope this helps

Oil and break in

3.6L of fully synthetic oil with a filter change. Genuine Suzuki filter  recommended. No running in, you can thrash it like suzuki intended.
