There is a test you can run on the starter but you need special ewuiptment to perform this test. You probably can take the starter out and take it to a local shop and they can test it. It sounds like the starter is dragging and probably needs to be rebuilt.

Went thru mower has new battery and silinoid universal type, fuse good,I turn key but will not turn over.Bumped starter from car and motor turned over, starter and motor work so what is wrong?

Not sure of total problem but I would start by cleaning the inside of battery cables. If I understand you can jump the battery and the unit will start so the battery cables may be dirty and not getting enough power from the small battery in mower.

My husqvarna zero turn rz4621 starter is getting enough voltage, but isn't putting out enough to start my briggs and straton motor. have checked with meter starter and silinoid, have had battery checked...

it maybe that the battery is getting old or is not the right rating if the AH Start rate is too low it will not have enough power to turn the starter motor. ensure the battery you use has enough Starting Amps rated. if this is not the issue have the starter motor checked out.

I hope this was useful.

If the positive wire is hot, its connection is bad, check and clean all corrosion at the terminal connections to the actual wire and at the terminal connection to the battery. Do this for both battery cables. Hope this helps, let me know.

have you checked the earth lead from battery to chassis connection? and more important the earth connection/lead from chassis to the engine ? if this lead is corroded/loose or broken ? you engine which is mounted on rubber mounts will not have earth for starter to operate for quick check ? connect a jump lead t the batteries earth then the other end to a suitable connection /earh point on engine then try starter ?

1996 Ford Explorer won't turn over.

fuel pump will not prevent engine from turnning over. the click you are hearing is the starter silinoid. you have one or more of the following: dead battery corroded battery terminals bad silinoid (or connections at silinoid) bad connections at starter bad starter. if all connections are tight and clean then get some one to turn key to the start position and you check with a test light or volt meter to see if there is 12 volts at the terminals on the silinoid if yes then check the terminal at starter. if all connections are clean what ever piece the voltage stops at is your problem if it goes all the way to the starter but starter will not turn then you need a starter.
Be careful when checking any and all of this dont get any thing you want to keep close to the parts of vehicle that move when running
