Question about 1989 Honda GL 1500 Gold Wing

I have a 1989 gl 1500 with a 125,000 never over heated. And is now over heating, raidiator water is not circulating,

I'll need to know what make--model--- age of this unit is and if it's electronically controlled to help you----your question is too vague do to the enormous variety types of heating systems----I'm going under the info provided that this is a boiler with domestic hot water coil----you say central heating so this throws me off---do you heat with hot water--hydronic-----or forced hot air----if hydronic---it sounds like your circulator in not functioning----a bunch of reasons circulator has failed---aquastat's "circulator control" has failed---thermostat has failed----broken wires----plugged lines----it goes on and on----this is the best I can do with this info sorry Happy Rabbit

My car keeps over heating.


Is the cooling fan coming on at 230 degrees ? Are there any other factors that could cause excessive heat such as a blocked exhaust system ?

Heater blows cold air only and car over heats


sounds like youre water pump is shot.it mite be a cloged raidiator with low flow.or the worst of all a bad head gasket

My thermostats call for heat but the heat goes off and on.circulator pumps work pilot light stays on.heat will stay on for awhile but cuts off.

Vaillant boiler no central heating but hot water ok


Could be a lot of things, but the issue appears to center on the heating circulation system. Possible causes I can think of:
  1. Thermostat setting is incorrect
  2. Thermostat is failing
  3. Main circulation pump for heat has failed
  4. Valve for heat circulation is closed

Put a new raidiator in my jeep and have no heat and it gets hot how do i fix it


I just had this problem and thought it was the thermostat also. Installed a new thermostat and still had the same problem. It ended up being the water pump. When we got the old one out all of the blades were totally rusted off and it wasn't circulation the water.

Heat blow cold air


most likely a problem with the water circulation around the heater core. if you've never used the heater, some vehicles have a hot water shut-off valve for the heater hoses. another possibility is the thermostat had been removed. the easiest way is to start the vehicle and slowly allow it to warm up monitoring the water temperature. it should heat up to normal water temperature, then heat up and then drop down. the thermostat is usually around 180 degrees or 192 degrees. it allows the water around the engine block to heat up then once it reaches 180 or whatever it opens up circulating the cooler water from the radiator into the engine block and pushing the hotter water into the radiator to cool off. no thermostat, then the water keeps constantly circulating not allowing it to properly heat up. this can slow the heater down, lower fuel economy, alot of things especially in the winter driving...

I know you said you did the head gasket, but it really sounds like a head gasket issue and pressure getting from the cylinder into the colling system. If you've had recurring overheating that necessitated another gasket replacement you'll likely have a warped head, which could explain the recurring t symptoms despite changing the gasket.

I'd do a compression test with the radiator cap off and see if you're losing compression. You'll likely need to have the head machined to remove the warping. Once machined and replaced with a good Yamaha brand gasket and a high temp sealant to help it, you should be okay. Be sure to torque the head bolts exactly in the order required and to the exact level required by the factory.

No heat,ch.thermostat,water is circulating,blower goin strong .


Check the 'heater control valve'. This valve opens when u turn on the heat switch on the dash, so the hot coolant will flow thru the heater core and provide heat. So although the coolant is circulating in the engine, the valve controlling the flow to the heater core is stuck closed, or not working.
