You will need to remove and clean the carbs on the machine. Old fuel can clog a the jets causeing the problem you are experiencing. You may also want to change the spark plugs due to running it while the carbs are not right it can foul out the plugs.

I have a 2002 suzuki ozark 250 2x4 that is very hard to up shift.

Hey Barry, has the quad been flipped onto the left side,? Sounds like you may have a bent shift shaft...one other possibility is the shifter needs adjusting (some newer engines do not have adjustments). I am guessing it is easy to down shift? If the shift shaft is bent.. be careful , you can easily crack the engine case!!

2003 suzuki wont start ran good whenparked 2 mo ago checked plugs checked fuel

Make sure the battery is fully charged. Consider getting a jump from another vehicle and if that doesn't work buy a can of ether starting fluid from the local walmart or auto store. Make sure not to keep turning the motor over if the vehicle doesn't start - you will flood the motor with gas and can damage the pistons - excessive gas will wash off the oil and the starter will get very hot. If you have done that already consider removing the spark plugs and adding a few drop of engine oil to each cylinder and smell for gas - let it air out. When older cars sit unused problems can bubble up.

02 Suzuki ozark 250- rear wheels don't turn,tranny

Okay first your other responses are completly illiterate ok if the drive shaft is spinning that means the motors running for all of you other answerers that means gas is going through the carb into the engine and it's working perfectly fine. Now to answer your question if the rear wheels aren't spinning you probably have the same problem I'm having with mine at the moment you've drivien it too hard and the gears on the bottom end of your drive shaft aren't warn but inside the bell housing of your rear end where the drive ahft enters the gears are so worn you can't feel them in that case you would disconnect all of your sub frame conecters and the back shock then your rear end will come away from the four wheeler check the gears I told you about and if they are worn go buy new ones. Problem solved

I have a 2002 Suzuki Ozark 250 ATV. I only has about 11 hours on it and was in storage for years. I rode it without problem last fall but now is difficult to start and will not idle. I drained the old gas...

I don't have a solution but I do have the exact same problem, '03 or '04 (not sure) Suzuki 250 Quadrunner Ozark, really low hrs, left in storage for 2.5 yrs, gas went bad, cleaned it out, now hard to start and won't idle by itself.
I have taken the carb apart and cleaned it out, but did not replace anything, and it will still not start very easily or idle. Before I took the carb apart I thought it was flooding because it would start with the accelerator wide open, but when I would let off, it would die again. Whats going on?? I really don't want to pay to have it fixed.
