Question about 2005 Honda Activa
Hi, I have two problems with my Honda Activa. 1. The front portion of the Activa vibrates abnormally for some time (15 to 20 seconds) when I start and accelerate the Activa slowly. The vibration is felt severely from the handles and foot and can see the head light vibrating at slow speed. After attaining speed there are no vibrations observed. These sort of vibration is not there on other Activas. 2. The engine suddenly shutdowns while taking a turn at slow speed. I need to again restart the vehicle. The vehicle is only three years old and has run 9000 Kms. Thanks, Sanath

7. Internal engine problem flywheels have shifted.
8. Broken frame.
9. Stabilizer links worn or loose.
10. Rubber mounts loose or worn.

You need to open the seat of honda activa and open the screw present in the space provided for tool kit and helmet. Next remove the two screws holding the back rest (the ones above the tail light). Now just lift the body by holding the front end (the one which is towards the steering) there will be a rod below pull it up and let it the body rest on it. You will find the spark plug on the side of the engine (you need to pull out the cap housing the spark plug).

Increased vibration from a vehicle indicates worn out engine supports. This vibration often disappears when revving the engine high, but is very noticeable at low revs.
You can have these inspected and possibly replaced to reduce the vibration cominf from your engine.
Hope this helps.

if this problem only happens when the eco light is on, then you prob have a bad rear engine mount. these vans have active front and rear engine mounts. when the engine is in VCM mode(operating on 3cyl) the front and rear engine mounts control the engine vibrations. when the rear one goes bad it connot control the engine vibrations. the rear mount can be visually inspected for failure(if its resting on itself), or on a test drive with the active noise control turned off. or engine brake torquing.
