SOURCE: what is the value of a 1974 rd 250 cc yamaha
A similar new bike costs around $2500. If it has been kept in a garage, I would guess your bike would be worth $1000 to a collector. It is 35 years old and there are very few parts available. A person who wants to actually use the bike as transportation would be foolish to buy it due to the parts problem. Additionally, most dealers will not work on a bike more than 10 years old.
Whatever gas was in it the last time it was ridden has evaporated leaving a varnish residue behind. The gas tank may be well rusted on the inside also. This is not a good combination. Generally, the varnish can be the bigger problem if it has plugged up the circuits in the carbs. Honestly, I would love to have it down here in Dallas. If something goes wrong I can fix it... IF the parts can be found. I checked Babbit's and found lots of periferal parts, but side covers, crank, generator, pistons and rings, crank seals, cylinders and heads, carbs, fenders, forks,
Testimonial: "thanks we are considering the best way sell this for a maximum return. it has been garage stored and a family member owned ....blessings to you also!"
