I have a 2002 Buell Blast 250. When I pull in the clutch and go to shift into first gear it grinds. But I found if I pull in the clutch and rev the engine a couple of times and then shift it doesn't do it. No other gears have this problem. Can you give me any advise

SOURCE: 07 Buell 12Ss shaking

not just a vibration but more of a shake at 1500 to 1700 rpm. Is this just life with a Buell or should it be checked out? These bikes are known to shake alot at idle. Check if your tires properly balanced.,,

SOURCE: engine timing, hornet 250

there is normally marks on the flywheel. sometimes 3 sometimes less. find the mark that makes the left piston sit at top dead centre on the compression strocke and it should be lined up correct. make sure that u are happy before u try starting otherwise it could end up very expensive.

SOURCE: '95 Yamaha YZ 125 clutch - stays in gear when clutch is pulled in

hey dude,, just thought id come in and give u some tips or 3,, i take it when u pull clutch lever in, and try and change gear it feels like your foot will snap b4 it goes in gear,, if that makes sense,, firstly mate,is to make sure the clutch cable slides freely ,easest way is to take cable off and just grab 1 end and make sure it isnt sticky,, if so dip one end of the cable in a bit of old oil ,,whilst holdin the other end ,pull and push the cable inner, this will **** up a bit of lubricant inside the cable ,, keep doin this each end till free to move, ,,next step if the cables ok,,, and may need help if u dont no,drain the oil out,,and as u r sat on the bike is to remove the clutch casing on the right hand side of the moter, where the bottom end of the cable goes, remove the casing being carefull not damage the gasket,,then u will see clutch plates and friction plates housed,, undo the 7 or 8 spring loaded bolts carefully take the first fibre plate out then metal friction plate then another fibre plate and so on,, wen u take the 1st plate out place that on the bench ,stacking each plate on top of one another, cause they have to go back in as they came out,,wen out,,u need a piece of wet n dry paper ,or fine emery,,and just wipe round both sides of the fibre plates taking the shine off them,as u put them back in,, put casing back on with a decent gasket,, oil back in cable on, make sure cable has no free play on the lever so wen u r about to pull lever in it bite straight away,, start her up, warm it up and try it,,any probs still il eat my shoe,, take care m8

SOURCE: i got a 1995 rm 250 that the gears are stuck.

Sorry to have to say this, you have a bent shift fork. The repair means taking the engine out of the frame then removing the top end, removing the flywheel and electrics, removing the clutch , shift mechanism and kick starter and a few other parts. THEN you are ready to split the gearbox to remove the crankshaft and then the bent shift fork. Next you get to put it all back together. This is a pretty big job for the home mechanic.

You will need an impact driver, flywheel puller, case splitter and torque wrench plus the normal screwdriver, pliers, etc.. Alternate to the special tools is taking it to the dealer and say "Fix it".
I normally tell people to take it to the shop just so they don't get into such an involved project.

Please rate this solution. Thanks

SOURCE: 2004 buell blast clutch popping noise when it,s released.

Hello chopper...glad to see a Buell owner, sorry to hear you are having problems. I have a 2000 Thunderbolt.
When you adjusted your clutch did you adjust it both places..one behind the rubber boot for cable adjustment and the other behind the primary cover?
Also check inside your primary and look for anything that might be rubbing where it shouldn't. New noises are often caused by a new occurence. Also look for metal shavings in your primary fluid and make sure it's full.
Good luck...hope this helps

Gears grind when shifting

Check the clutch adjustment. If it's not fully engaging it will be hard to shift into gears and it will give you the grinding sound. Buell's shift hard to begin.

Pull out cam gears cant get back in ..need to know how to set timing

You need to download the factory service manual. If you haven't pulled the top end apart to at least get the pushrods out your not getting the cams in without damaging the cams or the lifters. Google the factory service manual for a buell blast.
