Hello, my name is Ben. I'm sorry to say, yes you need to remove the tank to replace the fuel pump, since the pump is located inside the fuel tank.

My info says you have to drop the gas tank to replace fuel pump. Make sure the fuel pump is the problem and not something else?

Are the fuel injectors squirting fuel ? Does the engine have compression ? How many miles on the vehicle ? Timing chain an gears , these are know to wear an jump time . Do a compression test .

Actually there is a product that will bypass it completely and also provide the fuel enable signal. This link has some good information. Product in the picture. (GM VATS System) :)

My lights all come on but my car won't turn over doesn't make a sound or anything. What could the problem be?

I had a similar situation just this weekend on my 94 Buick Regal GS - it was the fuel pump (it wasn't 'engaging'). Unfortunately it was labor intensive (the fuel pump is in the gas tank, so they have to drop it to get to it), so about 500 bucks later, I have a new fuel pump, fuel filter (and, oh yea - a new battery, too just for fun).

I want to know if i can put a inline fuelpump on a 94 centry as i dont want to drop the tank?

nope. it wont work because without the gas tank fuel pump working , no fuel will be able to flow thru the fuel pump (in the tank)

2000 Buick la saber engine sputtering and miss firing

low fuel pressure because of pump or fuel filter problem can cause motor to run lean - filter should be on right side under back door by suspension arm - pump is in gas tank

Don't know how to safely replace the fuel pump.

Well John the safest and easiest way is to pay someone else to do it for you, but i'am sure you know that. First if you can, get all the gas you can out of tank, small siphen hose. Secound unhook electrical wires, and fuel lines, and you may have to drop down exhaust, Third unhook filler hose to tank, Fourth unbolt tank straps, and tank will come out. Now if you can't get the gas out plug filler hole on tank and put some padding on the floor and let drop out, or balance it on a floor jack but its best to have an extra set of hands to do this.

1997 buick le sabre

its the electrical connection at he fuel pump,if this is ok ask if they replaced the strainer on your fuel pump, your fuel pump is inside your gas tank ,you have to drop the tank to service, most fuel pumps are not warrantied if you dont change the strainer, when your car shuts off the sediment on the strainer falls back into the tank, but when you run your car and it sucks up the gas thru the strainer to the pump it clogs the strainer and the fuel pump cant pump, you shoiuld find out if they changed this because your forcing your fuel pump to work harder, was it a new fuel tank or used one that they put in
