Electrical connection plug for passenger side low beam light. Plug gets hot and light will go on and off, the plug looks dark from the heat.Everything seems to work fine with the high beams and the driver side works ok with no over heating of the high or low beam. I checked the fuse box and everthing looks ok. I guess my question is , can I buy a replcement connection plug for this lowbeam light and splice it in. Thanks

Jan 23, 2014 - My driver's side lights are working fine - high and low beams. ... But it definitely looks like the big lamp on the driver's side gets brighter when ..... Drivers side headlight is very dim on low beam and goes out when on high beam ...
I'm going to start out by saying I don't know. But between the two of us we should be able to figure it out. I don't know how the wires are coming out of the new plug. On the truck, the left headlight harness is white green, red black, and green black. White green is power, red black is the ground for the high beam, and green black is ground for the low beam. On the right side, dark blue light green is power, and the other two are the same color as the left side. If you look at the right side and figure out which terminal on the headlight the dark blue light green wire goes to, that is the same terminal you use on the left side for power. Then the other two wires are the same for both sides. I can post a wiring diagram if you think it will help.
Both your low beam and your high beam is protected by the same fuse, so it makes sense that the fuse is OK if the high beam is working on the passenger side. There are 3 fuses for the headlamps. Fuse #13 in the Battery Junction Box (20 Amp). If this fuse is blown, the headlamp relay will not have any power and neither high nor low beam on either side will work (you will have no headlamps at all) Then there is Fuses #2 and #3 (15 Amp) in the Battery Junction Box. #2 goes to the left low and high beam and #3 goes to the right low and high beam.
The headlamp switch uses a SINGLE CIRCUIT to control BOTH sides at the same time, so if one side works, the switch cannot be the problem. The headlamp relay provides power for fuses #2 and #3 and we alreadyascertained that these fuses must have power since we have working lights on both sides, so the relay cannot be the problem. A replacement bulb has already been tried, so that pretty much leaves us with a bad lamp socket. (Most likely cause) or a bad connection at splice #S122, which is located in the main wiring harness near the breakout for the left headlamp. (RED/BLACK wire)
get a test light and check plug (connector) to headlamp. one hi beam , one low beam and ground. if they light , lamp is bad, if the test light is confusing just switch headlamps from side to side and see if the lamp that does work works on other side or plug.
Power for the headlights on the Left side (High and low beam.) comes from the same fuse... The ORANGE wire and the ORANGE/BLACK are the same, they connect in the harness. If you only lack the 12v to make the light work connect them at the headlight assembly.
If your low beam also lacks ground the Left low beam ground is shared with the right low beam ground... Run a wire from left low beam DARK BLUE to right low beam DARK BLUE/WHITE.
If its not working now then your cursed, seek a witch doctor.
