SOURCE: Carbies willn't set float level,right floods,left sets to low

I don't know if its any help but I've fixed my Honda with similar problem. It turns out I reassembled the rich carbys air cut off valve incorrectly. Have you checked yours? I'm wondering if the cut off valves somehow affect the other parts of the carbys. Mine is running sweet now.

SOURCE: NEED TO KNOW FLOAT LEVEL HIGHT. REPLACED FLOAT AND

the common rule is to have it adjusted within 2mm of where the gasket meets the carb and bowl. get a clear hose about 6 in long and connect to where the fuel is flowing out of while bike is off. bend it to where the side of the hose runs up and down next to your carb. it will show where your level is. then keep adjusting till its around the gasket. also check to make sure the rubber valve isn't missing or damaged in your float.

- Now days some carburetors are produced which are fixed and no adjustment is provided.The float is made up of whole plastic like material.
Some floats have the copper/metal notch for the adjustment of fuel level.
- Take the carburetor assembly out.
- Remove the fuel bowls.
- Place the carburetor assembly with the floats upward towards yourself.
- Float level gauge and active data list (taken from the workshop manual) is required to carry out the adjustment. But you can simply adjust the float level correctly without any gauge.
- Hold the carburetor assembly at your eye level in such a way that the carburetor No. 1 is in front of you. Behind is No. 2 carburetor, then behind is No. 3 and then the No. 4. Or we can say that the carburetor No. 1 hides the carburetors 2, 3, and 4.
- Examine carefully the floats of all the individual carburetors be parallel to the surface of the carburetor where the float bowl face is seated and tightened.
- Adjust the float level by bending the float notch towards the needle valve (to decrease the float level and to raise the float) or away from the needle valve to increase the float level (to lower the float).

CARB ADJUSTMENT


The Float adjustment usually involves carefully bending a tab against the needle valve where the fuel enters the float bowl. Since the float, "floats", there is no external adjustment. The float should close the valve at a specific height, and open as the fuel level drops, thus controling the level of fuel in the bowl, which in turn controls the amount of fuel being ingested by the carb. As for cleaning, any over the counter fuel system cleaning additive will help with that, from any auto parts store.

Float level adjustment


If it has been ok up till now, it's possible you have a heavy float. ( full of gas) If you remove the bottom bowl from the carb, you will see the float assembly. Turn your das on and push up with your finger. You will see where it needs to be to shut off the flow. Judge that against the side of your bowl and youll know if its right. To adust it, you just bend the little tab where the needle and seat are.

I believe those adjustments are air jets, so closing them off run too rich. Also open the slotted plugs on the float bowl to check the fuel level, adjust by running the needle and seat assembly out or into the float chamber to achieve the correct level- it quits ******* fuel when it's right. Next -(if that hasn/t helped) Look up the jets and adjustments for that engine application.

The high level water alarm intermittently beeps and the pump starts and stops several times before clearing out the water


On the controls to the pump there is a float, or 2 floats that control wheather the pump is on, or off. I don't know wheather this one has one float or 2 so i will give a short explanation for either fix.

Little giant usually has 1 float on a length of cord, or 1 float with a rigid frame that it goes inside, or has a guide rod. No matter which system is employed there is a built in dead band for the interval between when the pump turns on at a high level, and when it shuts off at a low level. If the float is on a rod, or in a cage it needs to be able to move freely. There is a method to control the turn on height, and the turn off height with some little clamps that connect to the switch. So when the liquid level gets high the pump turns on, and then when the liquid level gets to the lower limit the pump automatically shuts off. If these little keepers are right near the top of the float, and right near the bottom of the float then as soon as the pump turns on the liquid level drops just a bit, and the dead band is real small, so it just shuts right off. the liquid flows backward through the pump and then it turns back on, ect... If this is the case move the adjustments that surround the float. Presto.

If it has a little float on a cord then the adjustment for the level needs to be secured to the discharge pipe or something. It has a mercury switch inside the float to turn it on, and probably another to turn it back off when the float goes to a desired level just above the suction at the base of the pump. I would use black zip tie's to hold the cord so that the desired "turn on the pump level", and the propper "turn off the pump level" are what you want. Just hold the cord against the discharge pipe so that the float is above the suction opening to the pump, and the strait up level of the float are what you want.

If it has 2 floats on cords then one of the floats will turn the pump on if both are held upright by the liquid level. This float must be the top float that is mounted on the discharge pipe. If the 2 floats are mounted in the reverse position then the pump will cycle quickly. There will be a nearly nonexisting dead band. Both will be upright but the control circuit will shut the pump off when the top float, which should be on the bottom, lowers even slightly. Use the same method as perscribed above to attach the floats. The one that belongs on the bottom, the one that turns the pump off, should be placed so that the pump will shut off before it tries to pump air. the top float will turn the pump on if it and the lower float are both upright.

YOU CAN ADJUST FLOATS WITHOUT SPECIAL TOOLS. ALL YOU NEED IS A FOOT LONG PIECE OF CLEAR TUBING, SIZED TO FIT THE BOWL DRAIN. SET FLOATS AS CLOSE TO WHAT THEY WERE WHEN YOU REPLACED IT. INSTALL THE BOWL AND PUT THE TUBE ON THE DRAIN. OPEN THE BOWL DRAIN SCREW WHILE HOLDING THE TUBE UP BESIDE THE CARB. WHEN YOU GET THE TUBE BESIDE THE CARB ASSY., THE GAS IN THE TUBE SHOWS YOU THE EXACT LEVEL OF FUEL IN THE BOWL. FROM THIS YOU CAN MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS NECESSARY FOR CORRECT LEVEL. THE LEVEL SHOULD BE RIGHT BELOW THE PLANE WHERE THE BOWL MEETS THE CARB BASE.

Water level in bowl too low


Hello, W/D, toilet expert, here.
The tank has a water level line cast into the inside back of the tank. That's where your water level should ideally be. Now, there are a variety of water level controllers, so we'll hit on the major ones. But first, a little nomenclature, so you'll know what it isn't. If you remove the tank lid, you'll notice a tube in the middle that's open, and usually has a smaller tube inserted or attached to it. This is the overflow tube, and feeds water to the rim of the bowl. At the base of the overflow tube is the flapper, and it controls the majority of the flushing power. The flapper is operated by a chain connected to the flush lever. When the flapper is raised (flushed), the water level drops. On the left side of the tank is the water fill valve, The water coming from the house via the tubing under the tank goes into this valve assembly. Part of this assembly is the all important float.
Older ones have the float at the end of an arm, As the water level falls, the float falls and operates the water inlet valve at the other end of the float, on the water fill valve. As the level rises in the tank, the float rises with the level and shuts off the water when it gets to it's pre-set level. This type is adjusted by positioning the float either by the screw adjustments on each end of the float arm, or sometimes by bending the float arm.
The newer types have the float either built in, or the float surrounds the fill valve. The one that surrounds the fill valve looks like a very fat donut and is very similar to the older float arm type, just more compact. The water level is set by adjusting the linkage between the float and the water valve at the top of the water control valve.
The newer newer type has all of the floating mechanism built in. But cleverly, there is an external adjustment for raising and lowering the water level. On the side of the tube, there are slots and raised dots on the lower tube. The upper tube has slots on the inside of it. There is a white locking tab between the two tubes. Here's how this one works: (Turn your water off first for adjusting this type). The tube is in two parts, an upper and lower tube. They are held in place by the locking tab, and by the slots cast into the two tubes (they intermesh) To adjust this type, you have to raise the lower portion of the locking tab to raise it off of the locking dots, and than revove it. Then, you push down slightly and twist the upper section to unlock it. Set the level higher or lower, twist the two parts back together, and reinsert the locking tab. The aim is to set the water level at the level mark on the tank. This type can be tricky; you'd do best to turn the water off to adjust this type, and turn it back on once you have locked it back in place.

I don't know if its any help but I've fixed my Honda with similar problem. It turns out I reassembled the rich carbys air cut off valve incorrectly. Have you checked yours? I'm wondering if the cut off valves somehow affect the other parts of the carbys. Mine is running sweet now.
