Hi.
not to sure about the KIA,
Most other transmissions have the filter inside the trans,
you need to have the base plate ( cover) removed to access it.
and when you remove it , oil will spill out .
Recommend to have a trans mechanic look at it or change.

what tranny? 5sp manual.
only the 5speed uses, real GL4 gear oil. so. must be.
under car, look up. see box. on right side is the fill hole.

you'll need to remove drain plug located on bottom of oil pan let drain, pull oil filter off @ replace @ refill oil

park the car and locate the automatic transaxle oil dipstick and check the oil level is up to the min. level if its too less buy ATM oil and refill after refilling the oil to the max level and harsh shifting still the same you maye have to have your engine checked by a competent mechanic and check your transmission shift solinoid functions as well.

Read bottom of trans pan. Also can remove plug on tailhousing to fill but still have to follow refill procedure.

The filler tube is located above the front of oil pan and has a plastic cap.Pry the plastic cap off ,remove plug from the filler pipe. Refill 3.2 Qts., Full refill(dry) 5.9 Qts.

usually you fill them through the transmission tube that has the dipstick in it, just put a funnel in the top of the tube and add the fluid but check to make sure you do not overfill it
