Question about Ducati ST4 Motorcycles

The fan will not work on my ST4. I have checked the fan (run power to it) and it works, I have changed the relay as well. Have checked the connector and it is ok. Any ideas where to look next?

Overheating, fan motor not running while engine is running. Need help in troubleshooting the control circuit.

Disconnect the ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor with the key on, the fan should start in default and stay running, if it doesn't run check for voltage at the fan motor connector, if voltage is present and the connector is not burned looking or discolored replace the fan motor. If the fan has no power try jumping the relay socket to power up the fan motor circuit, if that works replace the fan motor relay under the hood. You gave no make, model or year and engine type so that is about all I can help.

Fan is not running

First check the fuse in the fuse box .
It also depends on witch fan /engine cooling fan /Blower motor fan.
Engine fans will have a relay more so then a blower motor .
The differences is this the blower draws more power and runs on a different ckt then the engine controls .So you can use the blower motor with out the engine running key on .
You don't say witch one you are having the problem with so I will try to explain both .
Most of the time both have relays and fuse's .The heater fan works on HI only off the relay so the relay is good if it works on HI.
The relay for the fan to cool the engine is different it controls all speeds do to temp change its cold some times has to handle more information .The relay the one thing they both have in common is the connections tend to get corroided Most of the time you can unplug and clean the plug in connectors to fix the issue

Heater fan will not run all fuses & relays ok. discounted power plug reconnected works ok left over night will not run,

Fan motor bearings gummed up or bad. When you disconnected power plug may have bumped fan enough to jar in into working. Probably must replace motor.

My 2006 Chevrolet equinox cooling fans and front turn signal lamps have abruptly stopped working. Tested the fans=good. Tested flasher bulbs=good. Do I need new wiring harness? Maybe a connection...

I would find the circuit breaker relay that supplies power to whichever power distribution box that contains the cooling fan relays. If the box has power, then you may want to consider the following: I feel that if you find out why the fans quit working, then you may also have solved the front turn signal issue.

Electric Fan(s) not working, Checking the fan(s), relay, fuse and engine temperature sensor's.
Verify that the fans work by unplugging them and run jumper wires to the fan(s) from the battery. If they run, your problem lies elsewhere. If either does not run, it's the motor.
Next thing to check is for power at the fan connectors. You have to be cautious doing this because the engine needs to be running and warm if not almost hot, and the A/C also needs to be on. (Both must be on and running for the duration of this checklist.) The A/C fan is on the passenger side and should come on almost the instant the A/C is turned on. It is also the secondary engine cooling fan and should cycle on and off in relation to engine temperature, (If the A/C is OFF). Use a test light to probe the two wires on each fan. If you find power, the fan motor(s) is/are probably bad. If there is no power to fans, roll up your sleeves!

The temperature switch is usually located above the oil filter. If the dash gage is working, its probably OK. Next is the Fan Control Temperature Sensor, located IN or CLOSE to the thermostat housing. You will find out if it is working later is this checklist. I just wanted you to know where it is. Next is the relays and fuse's. Usually located in the engine compartment on the passenger side power distribution box. You will need to remove anything over the cover to open it. If the fuses are OK, tap on the relays or pull them out and push back in. If the fans are still not running, pull a relay and probe the socket terminals for power. Two of the terminals should have power, usually criss-cross from each other. One hot terminal is battery power, and the other is the "signal" voltage which triggers the relay to send 12V battery power to the fan. This signal voltage comes from the sensor at the thermostat. If only one terminal has power, then I would replace the sensor at the thermostat, if not both sensors.

Cooling fan is not working causing an overheat problem. What should I do?

Hi, first verify the sensor is working. If you have a gage, is it reading correctly? If you have only a light, does it come on when the engine is hot? If not, unplug the sensor and connect the wires in the connector to see if the gage or light react. If not, you have a wiring issue. If shorting the connector works but the gage does not read correct, replace the sensor.
If all is good with the sensor, disconnect the fan and use a test light to see if there is power at the connector terminals when the engine is hot. If no power, check the cooling fan relay. If there is power, make sure the blades on the fan connector are not corroded and reconnect. If the motor still doesn't turn, try jumping it straight to the battery with some wires. If the motor will not turn, replace the motor.

The coolant sensor is usually screwed into the top of the engine in the front by the belt or near where one of the large radiator hoses connects to the engine. The relay should be in the relay box in the engine compartment.

Check for power and ground directly at the cooling fan connector (the red and black wires). You can either jumper across the relay or with the key on, disconnect the coolant temperature sensor (2 wire connector near the thermostat housing, usually yellow and black). This should override the computer and energize the fans. If you have good power and ground at the fan connector, then the fan motor is no good. If you don't have power and ground there, it's a wiring issue from the relay, the relay itself, or no power to the cooling fan circuit (fuse).

Cooling fans not working on a buick regal 1992?

First check fuse in engine compartment. Use a test light to check for voltage at the fan connector. If no voltage at fan with engine running and hot, replace fan relay in engine compartment relay box. If there is voltage at fan, but fan doesn't run, replace fan. Any questions, please reply.

Radiator fan motor doesnt come. changed radiator fan motor and the checked fuse ;good! Turned the AC on and the motor still doesn't come on! Checked power at the fuse box but reads 2.5 volts dc to...

Make sure all your ground connections are good and clean. That includes the main one from the battery to the block, fender and block to firewall and several other smaller ones on the block. Make sure the connectors are clean and have power where it should be. You have a fan relay behind and below the rt headlamp. that is the primary one for the fan. Don't forget that there are connectors under the power distribution center. A good fuse connected to a bad connector won't work.

One of the fans in the front of the motor stop working. what do i need to check or work on to get it to start back, because its about to make the car run hot

The simplest way to tell if it's the fan or the relay (thermostatic switch) is to unplug both fans and then plug the "bad" fan into the "good" fan's connector. (NOTE: you may need to remove the fan from its mount in order to reach the plug on the other fan.) If the fan now works, you need to replace the relay. If it doesn't work, the fan itself is bad and will need to be replaced. You can pick up a new fan or relay at any reputable parts store.
